BMW G 310 R Highlights
BMW has launched the BS6-compliant G 310 R in India for Rs 2.45 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). Bookings for the roadster have officially commenced across the country for a token amount of Rs 50,000. The reduction in the retail price has helped the German brand record over 1,000 bookings within a month of launch.
BMW G 310 R BS6 Price:
The newly launched BMW G 310 R BS6 is priced at Rs 2.45 lakh (ex-showroom), which is Rs Rs 54,000 cheaper than the outgoing BS4 model. It's available in three new liveries: Cosmic Black, Polar White and ‘Style Sport’ in Limestone Metallic which will cost you an additional Rs 10,000 over the ex-showroom price of the bike.
BMW G 310 R BS6 Features:
The BS6 update brings with it a new LED headlight running LED DRLs, LED turn indicators, ride-by-wire throttle, a slipper clutch and adjustable brake and clutch levers. The bike also gets GTT (Glide Through Traffic) which works like a torque-assist allowing the bike to amble around at slow speed by just modulating the clutch.
BMW G 310 R BS6 Engine:
The G 310 R is powered by a BS6-compliant 313cc, fuel-injected, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder motor which makes 34PS at 9,500rpm and 28Nm at 7,500rpm, the same as before. Its 6-speed transmission now features a slip & assist clutch.
BMW G 310 R BS6 Suspension & Brakes:
Suspension duties are handled by 41mm upside-down forks up front and a monoshock at the rear. A 300mm disc up front and a 240mm disc at the rear handle braking duties with dual-channel ABS. Its 17-inch alloys are wrapped with Michelin Pilot Street tyres, measuring 110/70 at the front and 150/60 at the rear. With a saddle height of 785 mm, riders of all sizes should be able to get astride the G 310 R and manage it with ease.
BMW G 310 R BS6 Rivals:
At this price, the BMW G 310 R BS6 locks horns with the KTM 390 Duke and the Honda CB300R. It also rivals the BS6 TVS Apache RR 310 and the Kawasaki Ninja 300.

BMW G 310 R Pros and Cons
Things We Like in G 310 R
- Vibrations have been toned down to a great extent.
- Suspension retune allows for a more composed ride with a pillion.
- Excellent brakes. Offer good bite, feedback and progression.
- Paint quality brings out the premiumness of the product.
Things We Don't Like in G 310 R
- The Michelin Pilot Street tyres lack grip, thus affecting the bikes braking performance & handling.
- Sticks to the same LCD display. A full-colour TFT screen would have been a welcome addition.
- Service and spare part costs are still likely to be more expensive than its competition.
Stand Out Features
The new full-LED headlight design running a U-shaped LED DRL has its own distinctive charm.
New turn indicators really step up the game in terms of design.
G 310 R Expert Review
What comes to your mind when you think of the BS4 BMW G 310 R? Unreasonably expensive? Spot on, we’d say. To add to this, we felt the bike lacked features compared to its competition and had a vibey motor that ate into its fun factor. It was pretty much the same case with the Apache RR 310. However, TVS really put their heart and soul into the RR’s BS6 iteration, making it one heck of a proposition. It’s largely vibe-free, rides better and packs a ton of features.
So does the BS6 G 310 R follow the same path? Has BMW ironed out the Beemer's shortcomings? Well, the spec sheet might not tell a very different story from its previous iteration. But there are some much needed improvements here, and thanks to a lower price tag of Rs 2.45 lakh (ex-showroom), it’s a lot more accessible than before as well.
