Orxa Mantis Highlights
Bengaluru-based startup Orxa Energies has unveiled its first electric bike, the Mantis, at the India Bike Week in Goa. The Mantis electric bike features a naked streetfighter design and gets a 200km real-world range on a single charge. The 9kWh lithium-ion battery pack is a stack of 6 batteries that weigh 65kg in total. Orxa claims it has developed the batteries and they are modular and are swap-ready. The claimed charging time stands at less than 3.5 hours using a 15A socket.
The motorcycle is powered by an electric motor which is designed for a peak power of 25kW. Suspension bits include 41mm telescopic fork and a monoshock at the rear. The bike uses disc brake on both ends and the kerb weight stands at 175kg, which is 17kg more than the Ultraviolette F77.
Orxa aims to price the bike between Rs 3 lakh and Rs 4 lakh. It will be launched in mid-2020, going up against the Ultraviolette F77.
