Access 125 Expert Review
Design & Quality
Suzuki Access design
I quite like the design of the new Suzuki Access. It’s clean and classy with no sharp lines or overdone graphics. I would call the Access’ design traditional, but timeless, although the latest version does have some nice design touches. I particularly like the new shape of the LED headlight (rectangular with rounded edges) and its chrome bezel, as well as the U-shaped LED DRL on the front apron.
The side panels now feature sharper crease lines, and the tail section has been slightly redesigned. The shape of the tail light as well as the way the rear indicators wrap around the tail, reminds me a little of the second generation Suzuki Hayabusa.
Also, three of the four variants (Ride Connect TFT Edition, Ride Connect Edition and Special Edition) get beige panels on the inside of the front apron, under the seat and on the floorboard. And the way the floorboard panel wraps half way around the centre panel looks really premium.
Suzuki Access colours
The Suzuki Access is available in six colour options, which are spread out among four different variants. Pearl Grace White, Metallic Mat Black No. 2 and Metallic Mat Stellar Blue are available across all four variants. The Special Edition, Ride Connect Edition and Ride Connect TFT Edition variants are also available in a Solid Ice Green paint scheme, which also happens to be my favourite.
The Ride Connect Edition gets a unique colour scheme as well - Pearl Shiny Beige, while the Ride Connect TFT Edition variant ditches this scheme for its own unique colour - Pearl Mat Aqua Silver. As mentioned earlier, all but the base variant get beige plastic panels on the floorboard, inside of the front apron and under the seat, which adds to the premiumness of these variants.
Suzuki Access build quality
The latest version of the Suzuki Access uses metal panels only on the lower half of the front apron and the front mudguard is metal too. The rest of the scooter panels are plastic. But even then, the Access feels very solidly built with extremely consistent panel gaps all around. In fact, in my time with the Access, I rode it on quite a few bad roads around Pune, but even then, there was no rattling from any part of the scooter.
Features & Practicality
Suzuki Access Safety Features
The Suzuki Access gets a combined braking system (CBS), which automatically engages the front brake a little when you apply the rear brake. This helps reduce the chances of skidding during sudden braking on a slippery surface. The Access 125 also gets a mechanical rear brake lock to keep the scooter from rolling back on slopes when stopped. But I found the brake lock mechanism quite fidgety to use.
Suzuki Access Convenience Features
The Access gets an LCD instrument console as standard on most of its variants. This console shows all relevant information such as speed, fuel level, time and even real-time mileage information. The Ride Connect Edition variant of the Access also provides Bluetooth connectivity for this console, which enables features like turn-by-turn navigation, call and message alerts, and it can even show rain alerts and ambient weather information. The smartphone app also features digital wallet integration and can even show your last parked location. That said, in my experience, the Suzuki Connect app was a bit clunky to use and sometimes would be slow to sync. The latest Ride Connect TFT Edition of the Access gets all the same features, but instead of using an LCD instrument console, gets a colour TFT screen.
I quite appreciated the new multi-function key slot that let me unlock the seat as well as the external fuel filler cap door at the rear of the scooter. In the latest version of the Access, this fuel filler door opens sideways which makes it much easier for filling fuel. The Access also gets a USB charger for your mobile phone right above the left side cubby hole on the front apron. The only thing is that this uses a USB Type-A connector with a fairly low output. I really wish that Suzuki would’ve given it a USB Type-C port with faster charging speeds instead.
Suzuki Access Storage Options
The main underseat storage space in the 2025 Suzuki Access has been made slightly larger, and now stands at 24.5 litres. Although that is far from the best in the segment, it can easily accommodate a half face helmet, or even a few days worth of groceries.
Apart from the underseat storage, the Access also gets two cubby holes on either side of the front apron. These can hold a phone, wallet or even a small water bottle. The only issue is that both these cubbies don’t have a cover, so a couple of times, I almost had my phone fly out of the cubby hole when I rode fast over a large bump.

Then, the Access gets a fixed hook on the front apron and a foldable hook under the seat. But the most interesting thing here is that when you open the seat, you get two pegs, one on either side of the boot lip. You can hook grocery bags on these pegs, and once the seat is down and closed, the bags stay securely in place. The floorboard itself is among the largest among this class of scooters, and because of its wide shape, I could easily fit a hard cabin bag easily on it and still have just about enough room for my size 11 feet on the sides of the floorboard.
Suzuki Access Variants
The Suzuki Access comes in four variants, with the base variant - Standard Edition, starting at Rs 83,800. This gets pressed steel wheels, drum brakes at both ends and an LCD instrument cluster. The Special Edition gets the same console, but runs on alloy wheels, with a front disc brake, and costs Rs 6,700 more than the Standard Edition. The Ride Connect Edition, which costs Rs 4,600 more than the Special Edition, gets everything that the Special Edition does, but additionally gets Bluetooth connectivity for the instrument console to enable features like turn-by-turn navigation, call/message alerts, and much more. The top-end RIde Connect TFT Edition has all the same features as the Ride Connect Edition, but gets a colour TFT console instead of an LCD instrument console. This is the top-end variant of the Access, and costs Rs 6,800 more than the Ride Connect Edition. (all prices ex-showroom Delhi).
Our variant of choice would be the Special Edition, as it offers the additional safety of a front disc brake. In my honest opinion, Bluetooth connectivity on the Access is not a must-have feature, as the way it has been implemented isn’t super intuitive.
Rider & Pillion Comfort
Suzuki Access Rider Comfort
The 2025 Access has a fairly long single piece seat (865mm in length) that has adequate space for even larger sized riders or pillions. I’m 5’9” in height and a slightly heavy 82kg, but I had plenty of space on the rider portion of the seat. Even my taller colleagues, who are 5’11” and 6’0” could comfortably ride the Access.
And thanks to the high mounted handlebar, not only is the riding position upright and neutral, but the handlebars didn’t touch my knees even when taking tight U-turns. The 773mm seat height is short enough so that even my shorter colleagues - those who are 5’4” to 5’5” - had no problem getting their feet on the ground. The seat cushioning, though, is on the softer side. I could manage about 30-40km long commutes before I sank a bit too deep into the seat and started getting a bit of a backache. But I don’t believe this will be a major issue for lighter riders.
Suzuki Access Pillion Comfort
The pillion section of the Access’ seat is wide, well-padded and not too high-set. So even shorter pillions can easily climb on. Plus the large grab rail is easy to hold and will keep them feeling secure. The foldable aluminium pillion footpegs are also very well positioned to give the pillion a very comfortable seating position. But just as with the seat’s rider section, the pillion section is a bit soft as well. So my heavier pillions did say they felt uncomfortable after about an hour or so of sitting behind. But for most city commutes, it is just fine.
Engine & Performance
Suzuki Access Engine Details
The 2025 Suzuki Access has a 124cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine that makes 8.42PS @ 6500rpm and 10.2Nm @ 5000rpm. Compared to the last-gen Access, this latest version makes slightly lower peak power, but slightly more peak torque.
And it has more torque available at lower rpm, which makes it feel much more peppy. Here’s how the 2025 Suzuki Access fared in my acceleration tests compared to its competitors

Suzuki Access City Performance
While the Access isn’t the most powerful scooter in the 125cc segment, it ends up being quicker than all of its competition thanks to its lighter weight and more aggressive engine tune.
But what struck me most about this engine was that even though it’s really peppy up to 60kmph, it is extremely refined, no matter what speed you’re riding at. Overtaking traffic in the city is really easy thanks to the light throttle and the responsive engine.
Suzuki Access Highway Performance
The Access is one of the few 125cc scooters in the Indian market that can comfortably cruise at 80kmph, with minimal vibrations. This allowed me to do short highway stints on the Access quite effortlessly.
And on the highway, I could even hit speeds of 95-100kmph (indicated) quite easily, so overtaking trucks and buses on the highway was a relatively fuss-free affair. Of course, above 80kmph, I could feel some vibrations from the engine, but they never felt annoying.
Suzuki Access Mileage
In my testing, the 2025 Suzuki Access 125 was easily able to deliver a mileage of about 55kmpl in mixed conditions, which is not bad at all for a 125cc scooter. And with a 5.3 litre fuel tank, I could easily commute to work for a full week before I needed to refuel. Here’s how the Access’ mileage compares to its immediate rivals

Ride Quality & Handling
Suzuki Access Underpinnings
The Access uses a steel underbone frame with a telescopic fork at the front and a swingarm-mounted single shock at the rear. Unlike many modern 125cc, and even some 110cc scooters, which get 12-inch wheels at both ends, the Access gets a 10-inch rear wheel and a 12-inch front.
Tubeless tyres standard across the board, but the base Standard Edition variant gets pressed steel wheels, while all other variants get alloy wheels.
Suzuki Access City Handling
The Access has a tight turning radius, which makes it very nimble in traffic. I was easily able to filter through congested Pune roads during my testing. With a kerb weight of just 105kg or 106kg depending on the variant, the Access is among the lighter 125cc scooters in India. And while riding it feels very light to maneuver and is very flickable. Even smaller sized riders, or women riders, shouldn’t have any problems managing the Access in city conditions.
Suzuki Access Highway Handling
Generally 125cc scooters aren’t designed for proper highway use, and the Access is no different. It performs really well on the occasional highway ride and every time I was riding it at highway speeds of 70-80kmph, it felt very stable and planted. And even on gentle curves, it doesn’t feel unsettled. In fact, my colleague Azaman rode it on a go-kart track in Pune, and set the fastest time of the day compared to the TVS Jupiter and the TVS iQube ST 5.2kWh. He even commented that the Access felt particularly confidence-inspiring around corners.
Suzuki Access Braking
The base Standard Edition variant of the Access gets drum brakes at both ends. All other variants get a disc brake at the front. And the Ride Connect Edition which I rode came with the front disc brake. Of course, CBS (combined braking system) is standard across all variants.
The performance of this brake is adequate at city speeds, but if you want to stop quickly, I had to pull the brake lever quite hard. This made it difficult to judge how much brake I was applying, so I found it best to use both front and rear brakes together if I wanted to come to a halt rapidly.
Ride Comfort (4/5)
Suzuki Access Ride Quality
The Access’ suspension setup is also top notch, and can absorb most bumps and potholes quite well. The front suspension feels particularly well tuned, and the larger 12-inch wheel rolls over bumps and through potholes quite comfortably.
But the rear suspension setup is a bit on the stiffer side. When I was riding solo, I could feel sharp bumps through the rear suspension much more than through the front, but the ride never got jarring. With a pillion sitting behind me, the rear suspension absorbed bumps much better. But the best part is that even if I rode over larger bumps quickly, it didn’t affect the stability of the scooter
Competition Check
Suzuki Access vs TVS Jupiter 125
The Jupiter 125 offers a much larger 33-litre underseat storage space, and a larger floorboard as well. It also has a larger fuel tank with an apron-mounted fuel filler cap which makes it more convenient while refuelling. The Jupiter’s ride quality is slightly better over bad roads too. But the Access has a significantly smoother engine than the Jupiter, and offers peppier performance, which makes riding on faster roads much better.
Suzuki Access vs Honda Activa 125
While Honda’s scooters are known for their high reliability, personally, I believe that the Access is just as well-built and reliable as the Activa. But because of this general impression, the Activa 125 will have better resale value. The Activa 125 has a more traditional design, which along with its strong brand recall might make it the obvious choice for some. But the Access offers much more smoothness from its engine, feels more light and agile and offers better performance as well.
Suzuki Access 125 Pros and Cons
Things We Like
- Offers comfortable riding posture making everyday rides easy
- External fuel filler cap makes refuelling easier
- Has a long seat, enough space for both rider and pilion
Things We Don't Like
- Has not got a performance upgrade
- Suspension is stiffer than before

- Scooter from the stable of Racing Blood.Foremost idea behind chasing this bike is it's mileage and large space. Even a month's ration can be carried in this bike along with a pillion rider. Even with all these, the ride is super smooth. And the fantastic colour option is the final point of reckoning. Absolutely Positive. Ride is super comfortable. The power is quite peppy. The pick up is super smooth. It accelerates without much effort and overtakes other vehicles so easily that I remain amazed. Without even trying I can easily overtake other so called super scooters. In, not so empty, highway it cruises past 60 km/hr without me even noticing it and quite a few times clocks 80 km. The riders from all age group can buy this scooter. Though it's a very basic one, it amply make it's way with it's sheer power, mileage and large carrying capacity. It is a scooter for daily commute as well as long ride. Even a daily run of 30kms one way is a joyride as its a very comfortable scooter.Read More1

- Good to buy in financial cityVery good to buy I used to drive hero pleasure, our family scooter. But something was calling me from the far. It was a call to become a suzuki access. I am always fascinated by motorcycles, never liked the scooters anyways. I always consider scooters to be only for ladies. But nowadays many companies are marketing their scooters for male consumers Very good in the financial city GREAT scooter, I truly did enjoy riding it. I would highly recommend anyone that rides or has been a access rider to enjoy, I am quite sure you will also enjoy it as much as i have. A scooter like the access 150 is often recommended for its reliability, comfort, and ease of handling. A comfortable bike with good power is ideal. A bike that balances comfort, reliability, and power is best.Read More3 1
- Access is the best in it's segmentI chose access for it's refined engine , great mileage and smooth ride. I never opted for another scooter since i got my hands on suzuki access and it has been 13 years now that I've been using access and this model is best. This bike didn't disappoint me anywhere. I took it in the city traffic plus most rides are on highways so i know about the power it produces because in traffic this engine never disappoints. I always had an ease of moving around with this smooth machine. I would definitely recommend this bike for it's fuel efficiency and the refined engine it has. I already have told my friends about this specific bike and i always have suggested to go for it and people listen when they see that you have a great example in your hand i.e. suzuki access.Read More1

- Good scooter in the marketVery good experience in terms of riding and handling. Overall a very good daily rider and with a good mileage of 45-50kmpl in mixed road conditions, it has won the heart of my family. and proudly this is our 2nd access in our house and has crossed 60k km and running smoothly only one issue is with the silencer, planning to replace it soon.Though it's a 4 year old scooter easily manages to cruise in 80-90 on highway without any effort. Also i have not faced any major issues till date. If you are looking for good family scooter with a good performance and comfort it's a must buy.Read More1
- Choosing Suzuki Access 125 for Its Superior StorageBecause of the Suzuki access, 125 superior storage capacity streamlined engine and reputation for comfort, I chose it over the activa. I wanted a scooter that could be both the family, weekly grocery shopping trip and my daily commute to office but the main thing is, it’s not that compatible for me as I use delhi to reach my office Unfortunately, it has fallen shot of expectation. Longer rides are exhausting because the seat become unpleasant after only 15 to 20 minutes with only 38 km per litre city traffic. The mileage is disappointing and far less than what I was promise to make matter worse servicing take far longer than anticipating because spare part are difficult to get in my city. If you believe me to be honest, I say no, if you value comfort, mileage and dependability is not the best option. I would advise choosing the TVS Jupiter or Honda activa 125 because they are both more reliable in terms of real-world fuel economy, easier to maintain also.Read More2
- My Decision on the Access 125 Scooter was amazingThe Access is what I was looking for as a daily urban commuter, I considered the Yamaha Fascino, Activa 125 and Access 125. I enjoyed how smooth the Acces's acceleration was, I liked the soft suspension and light handling while riding. I took the time to review the average mileage, service costs and dealer reputation to reach my decision with confidence. My Access 125 feels light and manageable on every ride. Suspension absorbs bumps well, and handling is easy in traffic. Mileage averages 48–50 kmpl. Pillion comfort is decent for short trips. On highways, it’s steady up to 70–75 kmph. After-sales support has been prompt and helpful. The Access 125 is great for someone who is looking for low maintenance, comfort, and good fuel economy. The Access 125 is great for everyday city riding and enjoyable for running errands. For riders looking for a more sporty ride, all out top speeds, or extended highway riding, then a different scooter may be a better option.Read More2
- My Decision on Access 125 after comparing Popular Scooters for City RidingI was in the market for a scooter that was comfortable, dependable and easy to maneuver through the city. I compared the Activa 125 and Yamaha Fascino, but the comfortable seat, large storage, and better fuel efficiency approximately 50 kilometers per liter impressed me when I took test rides and looked into reputable service as part of the decision-making process, and after considering all my options The Access 125 was the clear decision. Riding the Access 125 is smooth and stress-free. City traffic is effortless, acceleration is gentle, and the seat is comfortable for daily commuting. Mileage stays around 50 kmpl. On short highways it’s stable, though top speed is limited. Service is reliable and spares are easy to get.
