Overview
The Honda Dio 125 is a sporty 125cc scooter from the Japanese manufacturer. It comes with a stylish design, and 123.97cc engine shared with the Activa 125.
Design
The Honda Dio 125 features the same sporty design as the Dio 110, but the body panels are slightly more muscular. Compared to the Dio 110, the 125 has a slightly sportier grab rail and a different exhaust. In a recent development, the brand also launched a new special edition of the Dio 125, called the X-Edition.
With funky graphics and new logos the scooter’s design looks refreshed. It comes in 8 matte and glossy colours options: Sports Red, Pearl Nightstar Black, Pearl Siren Blue, Pearl Deep Ground Gray, Mat Marvel Blue Metallic, Mat Sangria Red Metallic, Mat Axis Gray Metallic, and Pearl Deep Ground Gray.
Features
The Honda Dio 125 features an easy-to-read fully digital instrument console that shows speedometer, odometer, fuel gauge, trip meter, real-time mileage, clock, side stand indicator, service due indicator and other basic tell tale lights.
Whereas, the Honda Dio H-smart variant features a fob (remote) key and gets advanced features like Smart Find, Smart Unlock, Smart Safe and Smart Start, which lets you find your scooter using the fob key, making the indicators blink. These features also unlock and start the scooter with a knob, without needing to insert a physical key.
Riding Posture & Comfort
The Honda Dio 125 has a well-padded and spacious seat. It offers a comfortable riding posture, thanks to the easy to reach handlebar. With a seat height of 708mm, the Dio 125 is suitable for riders of all heights, however, taller riders may feel their legs cramped, because of the slightly smaller floorboard.
Engine, Mileage & Performance
The Honda Dio 125 is equipped with the same 123.97cc, air-cooled, single-cylinder engine as the Honda Activa 125 that makes 8.25PS at 6,250rpm and 10.4Nm at 5,000rpm. The scooter has enough power and torque to handle city commutes. The scooter glides through city traffic with ease. It can also handle occasional highway runs as well.
Handling & Ride Quality
Handling of the Dio 125 is good, thanks to the telescopic fork and bigger 12-inch front wheel. The telescopic fork along with the 3-step adjustable monoshock takes on most of the bumps and potholes. For braking, it gets a front disc brake and a rear drum brake.
Should you buy Honda Dio 125
The Honda Dio 125 is a good scooter for its price. It combines sporty looks and good performance with a host of features and a comfortable ride quality. The Dio 125 is a good choice for someone who wants Honda’s reliability with a sporty design. The Smart variant brings in additional features, but misses out on turn-by-turn navigation even as an option.

I ultimately choose the Dio 125 specifically because it had a good engine comparing to other rivals and the maintenance is also cheap . The seat is wide and supportive, making daily commutes very easy on the back.Both the rider and the pillion get wide, well-padded seats, contributing to excellent overall comfort on longer commutes.i even travel kerala to Chennai on a single day with this with multiple stops ... It's still holds no problem If you are a daily commuter but you want to have a sporty plus reliable scooter go for this and cheap in maintenance too , you don't have to think about the the engine because it's honda and you can trust this scooter.
