Honda's cheapest variant of the Dio 125 comes with more than you'd expect from a base model

    Honda Dio 125

The Dio 125 is well known for its sporty appeal. Honda sells the scooter in three variants: STD, X-Edition, and H-Smart. The STD (Standard) is the base trim, but it doesn't feel like one. Here's what it actually gets you.

    Price & Positioning

At Rs 88,134 (ex-showroom), the Standard variant is the cheapest way to get a Dio 125 scooter. The H-Smart costs more than the Standard, but that extra money goes almost entirely toward connectivity: Bluetooth, the RoadSync app, and the Smart Key and its related features. The core mechanical and safety hardware, including the TFT display, disc brake, and Idling Stop System with silent starter, are already standard on the base variant.

    Design & Styling

Design-wise, I’d say there’s nothing held back. You still get the Fierce LED headlamp, a split grabrail, and alloy wheels. The muffler has its own sporty heat shield, and the body panels look more muscular than on the smaller Dio 110. Honda gives buyers a decent set of colour schemes, including premium colours like Mat Marvel Blue Metallic, Imperial Red, and many more.

    Features

    Honda Dio 125 Convenience Features

The STD's feature list is the real surprise here. It comes standard with:

    • A 4.2-inch TFT display showing live mileage, average fuel efficiency, and distance to empty

    • An eco indicator (lets you know how economically you’re riding) and a maintenance reminder

    • An 18-litre underseat storage

    • An apron-mounted open compartment to store small items, along with a USB Type-C charging port next to it (ideal to keep your phone charged)

    • An external fuel fill, so you don't have to pop the seat open at the pump

    • Honda’s idling stop system that switches off the engine after it idles for a few seconds in traffic. It turns back on with just the twist of the throttle while holding the rear brake lever. This helps in conserving fuel on roads with heavy stop-go traffic. It is paired with a silent starter for noiseless starts.

The one thing you don't get is Honda's connectivity suite, which is exclusive to the H-Smart: Bluetooth pairing, the RoadSync app, turn-by-turn navigation, call and message alerts, weather updates. It also misses the Smart Key system that lets you find, unlock, and start the scooter without pulling the key out of your pocket.

    Safety & Hardware

    Honda Dio 125 Disc Brake

Braking is a 190mm front disc paired with a 130mm rear drum, both tied together through a Combined Braking System, and this is the same setup across all three variants. Suspension is a telescopic front fork with a 3-step preload-adjustable rear shock absorber at the rear, running on a 12-inch front wheel and 10-inch rear wheel with tubeless tyres. There's also a side-stand engine cut-off, so the engine won't run if you try to pull away with the stand down.

    Engine & Performance

The scooter comes with a 123.92cc, air-cooled single-cylinder engine. It makes 8.30PS at 6,500rpm and 10.5Nm at 5,000rpm, sent to the rear wheel through an automatic transmission. The Honda Dio 125 STD also keeps a kick-starter alongside the self-start button, something the H-Smart drops entirely. This is particularly useful if there’s a low voltage on the battery.

    BikeDekho Says

    Honda Dio 125

The STD delivers on what’s really necessary and crucial. You get the info-packed TFT console, disc brake, and silent starter without paying for Bluetooth and keyless tech, which you might not need. So if the smart features aren’t dealbreakers for you, the STD variant gets you almost everything that matters about the Dio 125, at the lowest price in the range.

Best stylish aur powerful 125cc scooter
Mujhe apne daily college jaane aur city ke kaam ke liye ek stylish aur powerful scooter chahiye tha. Market me bahut saare options the par unka look simple tha. Mujhe ek aisa scooter chahiye tha jiska design sporty ho. Honda Dio 125 ka look mujhe pahli nazar me pasand aa gaya. Iska look aur Honda ka bharosa, dono mil raha tha isiliye maine isko chuna. Is scooter ko chalane ka mera experience bahut badhiya raha hai. Iska 125cc ka engine bahut smooth hai aur traffic me pickup bhi zabardast milta hai. Long ride par seat bahut comfortable hai aur mujhe patna ke local traffic me isse lagbhag forty five se forty eight ka mileage aaram se mil jata hai. Main is scooter ko sabhi young logon aur college students ko lene ki salah dunga. Agar aapka budget ek premium scooter ka hai aur aap stylish look ke sath achha mileage aur majboot engine chahte hain to aapko bina soche is gadi ko kharidna chahiye, ye sach me ek paisa vasool scooter hai.

Genuine review of honda dio 125
Choosing a scooter is a matter of trust, and for me, that trust lies with the Honda brand. I ultimately choose the Dio 125 specifically because it had a good engine comparing to other rivals and the maintenance is also cheap . Because it's japanese company it is pretty reliable and can consider for long rides . I am owner of a all generation of the honda dio series this is my 4th honda dio .. so far this is the best dio so far because they have given the honda grazia engine to it by doing some calibrations . I had two choices which was this and tvs ntorq the ntorq Laks in refinement , reliability and good service that' the reason I have moved to a japanese brand and iam very much satisfied comfort is excellent. The seat is wide and supportive, making daily commutes very easy on the back. Both the rider and the pillion get wide, well-padded seats, contributing to excellent overall comfort on longer commutes.i even travel kerala to Chennai on a single day with this with multiple stops ... It's still holds no problem If you are a daily commuter but you want to have a sporty plus reliable scooter go for this and cheap in maintenance too , you don't have to think about the the engine because it's honda and you can trust this scooter. It even has all the features like tft display disk brakes at the front and a good cvt gearbox. The only cons would be the headlights it's completely useless on places other than city.
