Yamaha entered the Indian two-wheeler market in India through a joint venture with Escorts Group, with the latter handling the production of Yamaha two-wheelers in the country. The iconic Rajdoot 350 and the RX 100 are some of the two-wheelers launched under that JV.
In 2001, the entire operation became a 100% subsidiary of Yamaha Motor Company (Japan). Yamaha Motor India currently runs the brand’s operations in India. The brand is known for making bikes and scooters that offer exciting performance at a price tag that’s affordable for everyone. Yamaha currently has five scooters in its lineup.
Yamaha Identity & Tag Line
The brand’s current tagline is ‘Revs your Heart’, which goes in line with their scooter portfolio in India, with the Aerox 155 being the perfect representation of the tagline.
The brand launched its first scooter, the Fascino, in 2012 with a curvy and distinct styling that was quite unique in the market. The RayZR followed up that launch with a bigger, sharper road presence and a very fuel-efficient engine.
The manufacturer launched its ‘Call of the Blue’ brand campaign in 2018, and in its scooter lineup, the Aerox 155 captured the essence of the campaign perfectly with its high-revving performance and sporty handling dynamics, making it an attractive option for a younger customer base. These scooters have helped the manufacturer develop its identity of a brand that produces scooters with a good road presence while offering refined performance at an affordable price tag.
Who Should Buy Yamaha Scooters?
The Fascino 125 Fi offers curvy styling with a vintage flair and good fuel economy. The engine feels smooth, and the scooter feels light and nimble to handle. If you’re in the market for such a scooter, then the Fascino will be a good option to consider.
The RayZR 125 Fi has a more edgy design language and stands out among other scooters on the road. It is one of the most fuel-efficient scooters in India, and if you’re looking for a scooter with a good road presence that is also easier on the pocket to run, then you should consider the RayZR. The Street Rally variant offers a more rugged look with block-pattern tyres.
For the enthusiasts, the Aerox 155 and the Aerox 155 Version S are a perfect fit. The muscular and aggressive styling grabs attention on the road. Its liquid-cooled motor is very refined and offers exciting mid-range performance, making it capable of hitting triple-digit speeds on the highway. As for the handling, it takes corners like a bike. The Version S variant is the more feature-rich one with keyless features.
