Yamaha Fascino 125 Highlights
Yamaha has revised the price of the Fascino 125. It now costs Rs 800 more than the previous asking price. Price list here. The Fascino 125 has a retro styling like the 113cc Fascino scooter but it gets a more powerful and fuel-efficient 125cc motor. It also gets upgraded underpinnings for a more comfortable ride.
Yamaha Fascino 125 Price:
Yamaha recently replaced its 113cc Fascino scooter with the 125cc Fascino 125 BS6. The BS6 Fascino 125’s prices start at Rs 68,730. It’s is available in four variants: Fascino 125 Drum (Rs 68,730), Fascino 125 DLX Drum (Rs 69,730), Fascino 125 Disc (Rs 71,230) and Fascino 125 DLX Disc (Rs 72,230, ex-showroom Delhi).
Yamaha Fascino 125 Features:
The Fascino 125 BS6 continues to use the BS4 Fascino’s styling but it is more evolved now. The redesigned headlamp gets a concave lens while the new tail lamp gets a ‘V’ pattern. The grab handles have been revised as well. On the Std variants you get a chrome finish on the headlamp, front apron-mounted turn indicators and side panel trim; while the deluxe version gets a black finish. You also get premium looking dual-tone seats on the DLX variants. Sadly the new Fascino still continues to use a halogen bulb headlamp and bulb tail lamp and turn indicators. It still makes do with an analogue instrument console. The new 125cc scooter, however, gets a new side-stand cutoff switch and an optional underseat USB charger.
Yamaha Fascino 125 Engine:
The Fascino 125 gets a new fuel-injected 125cc motor that is BS6-compliant and delivers 8.2PS at 6500rpm and 9.7Nm at 5000rpm. The new engine is not just more powerful than the Yamaha Fascino’s BS4 motor: according to Yamaha, it is 16 percent more fuel-efficient as well. It continues to use a variomatic transmission. Yamaha has also equipped the new 125cc scooter with a starter-generator similar to the ACG starter found in the new Honda BS6 scooters. It also gets a start-stop system similar to the Hero Destini 125 BS6.
Yamaha Fascino 125 Suspension & Brakes:
The Fascino 125 BS6 gets a new frame that allows the seat and floorboard to be longer than before. The handlebar is 18mm closer to the rider and 20mm taller than before. The new frame also helps the Yamaha Fascino 125 BS6 to be 4kg lighter than before. Weighing in at 99kg, the Fascino 125 is the lightest scooter in its segment. It gets telescopic forks and monoshock, 12-inch front and 10-inch rear alloy wheels. Braking is via an optional front disc and a rear drum brake with CBS.
Yamaha Fascino 125 Rivals:
With the new 125cc motor, the Fascino 125 competes against the Honda Activa 125, Suzuki Access 125, and the Hero Destini 125. In terms of pricing, it competes against the TVS Ntorq, Honda Shine, TVS Jupiter, and Hero Maestro Edge 125, Hero Super Splendor and Bajaj Pulsar 125.

Fascino 125 Expert Review
The previous-generation Fascino was Yamaha’s best selling scooter, offering Vespa-like styling at a much lower price point with the added bonus of Japanese reliability and refinement. During the BS6 transition, Yamaha decided to replace the Fascino’s 113cc motor with an all-new 125cc mill. The new motor now allows Yamaha to step into the more premium 125cc segment dominated by the Suzuki Access 125, Honda Activa 125 BS6 and Hero Maestro Edge 125. So are the updates enough for the Fascino to regain its popularity among buyers?
