Overview
The Vespa ZX is one of the most affordable Vespa scooters in India, while being one of the most expensive 125cc scooters on sale in India.
Design
Much like the other Vespa scooters, the ZX too gets smooth, flowing and curvy lines and the round mirrors and headlight just complete the overall retro look.
Features
The Vespa ZX follows the same retro approach with the console as well. It gets a fully analogue console with an analogue speedometer, fuel gauge and tell-tale lights showing the indicator and the headlight. Right at the bottom is an analogue odometer. The only digital bit is a digital clock right under the console.
Riding Posture & Comfort
The Vespa ZX has comfortable ergonomics, for the riding triangle is nice and upright. That said, the hump in the floorboard restricts the goods carrying capacity.
Engine, Mileage & Performance
The ZX is powered by a 124.45cc 3-valve engine making 9.77PS @ 7400rpm and 10.11Nm @ 5600rpm. Its 3-valve engine helps the engine breathe better than its 2-valve rivals and hence allows the Vespa ZX to rev that much more freely.
Handling & Ride Quality
The Vespa ZX boasts of a monocoque chassis which is a lot more communicative and should ideally make it a sweet handler. Even the suspension does a good job of soaking up the bumps and potholes.
Should you buy Vespa ZX
The Vespa ZX is expensive and there are no two ways to it. So if you’re on a budget, there are other 125cc scooters like the Yamaha Fascino 125, Suzuki Access 125 and the TVS NTorq 125 that you can consider instead. But if you’re not on a budget and a retro, elegant, completely old-school scooter is what you’re looking for, the Vespa ZX does make for a nice option.
