Overview
The Vespa 150 is a premium 150cc retro scooter. It’s known for its iconic and timeless Italian design.
On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of Vespa, the brand launched the limited edition Vespa Tech 80 scooter based on the flagship Tech variant.
Vespa 150 PriceThe Vespa 150 is offered in several variants, with different colours and features. The Vespa 150 Single Tone variant is priced at Rs 1,38,228, whereas the Dual Tone will set you back by Rs 1,40,179. While the Tech and Qala variants retail at Rs 1,92,784, the Tech 80th Edition costs Rs 1,99,440 (all prices are ex-showroom, Maharashtra).
Vespa 150 VariantsThe Vespa 150 is offered in five variants: Single Tone, Dual Tone, Tech, Qala and Tech 80th. As their names suggest, the Vespa Single Tone comes in single-tone colours, whereas Vespa Dual Tone has dual-tone colour scheme. Vespa Tech is feature-loaded with a smartphone-connected TFT display with navigation. The Qala and Tech 80th are limited edition variants which are based on Vespa Tech.
Vespa 150 DesignVespa is known for its uncompromising Italian aesthetics. The scooter looks premium and vibrant. The chromed-out mirrors, steel body and curvy design give off very retro vibes. With many vibrant colours to choose from and a well-done fit and finish, the scooter looks a class apart from others in the market.
Vespa 150 EngineThe Vespa 150 has a 149.5cc air-cooled engine which produces 11.4PS at 7,500rpm and 11.66Nm at 6,100rpm.
Vespa 150 FeaturesThe standard variant of the scooter offers a basic list of features with a semi-digital console with an analogue speedometer and a small LCD screen that shows information like odometer, trip metres and fuel gauge.
As for safety, it gets a combined braking system (CBS). The Tech, Qala and Tech 80 variants get a 5-inch TFT console that supports Bluetooth connectivity, enabling features like turn-by-turn navigation and call/text alerts. It also gets keyless ignition. For safer braking, it comes with a single-channel ABS.
Vespa 150 Chassis, Brake, Wheels and SuspensionThe Vespa 150 gets a bottom-link front suspension, and a single rear shock absorber with 4-step preload adjustability. There’s a 200mm front disc brake with single-channel ABS in Tech, Qala and Tech 80th variants. The standard variant gets the same disc with CBS. All the variants get a 140mm drum at the rear.
It rolls on a 11-inch front and a 10-inch rear alloy wheel, both wrapped with tubeless tyres. The scooter’s seat height stands at 770mm, and it gets a fairly large 7.4-litre fuel tank.
Vespa 150 CompetitionThe Vespa is the only retro scooter in the 150cc segment, but other modern, sporty alternatives in the same displacement category include the TVS Ntorq 150 and the Aprilia SR160. You may also check out liquid-cooled alternatives such as the Yamaha Aerox 155 and the Hero Xoom 160.
