Honda ADV 160 Expert Overview
Overview
Honda officially unveiled the ADV 160 in India on July 24, 2026, as part of its larger 10-product lineup reveal. This marks Honda's first adventure-styled maxi-scooter for the Indian market, and it will be manufactured locally to help keep pricing fair against rivals. It is expected to be priced at around Rs 1.60 lakh (ex-showroom), with a launch likely around September 2026. One thing that stands out here: the ADV 160 is set to be India's first scooter to run on flex-fuel, supporting up to E85.
Meanwhile, Honda has already given the ADV 160 a special edition in Malaysia. Boon Siew Honda (the brand's manufacturer and distributor there) launched the ADV 160 Spider-Man Edition, limited to just 300 units nationwide and priced at RM 14,149 (approx. Rs 3.34 lakh, around Rs 21,300 more than the standard version). That said, this particular variant is unlikely to make it to India.

Design
The ADV 160 has a rugged, SUV-inspired maxi-scooter styling rather than a typical scooter look. It gets block-pattern tyres, a chunky front end, and all-LED lighting that gives it an aggressive stance. The tapering tail section is complemented by a sleek LED tail lamp, chunky exhaust, and long twin rear shock absorbers. It doesn’t have a flat floorboard as it is a maxi-scooter. Instead, the spine at the center houses the fuel tank cap for easy fuel filling without having to open the seat.

Features And Practicality
Safety Features
The ADV 160 comes with disc brakes at both the front and rear, paired with single-channel ABS. It also gets Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC), Honda's version of traction control, which should help with grip on slippery or uneven city roads.

Convenience Features
There's a 5-inch TFT display with Bluetooth connectivity and Honda RoadSync, bringing in turn-by-turn navigation. The scooter also gets a keyless Honda Smart Key system, a segment-leading 27-litre under-seat storage compartment, and a front cubby with a USB Type-C charging port, handy for keeping your phone topped up on the go.

Riding Posture & Comfort
Honda seems to have designed the seat with a contoured shape that should help keep things comfortable over longer highway stretches, and the adjustable windscreen should help manage windblasts at higher speeds. Expect the pillion seat to be roomy and comfortable as well.

Engine And Performance
City & Highway Performance
Power comes from a 156.9cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that puts out 16.3PS and 14.9Nm of torque, making it capable enough for both daily commuting and weekend highway runs. The flex-fuel compatibility (up to E85) adds some flexibility depending on fuel availability. This means it can run either on pure petrol or E20, and up to 85% ethanol.
Gearbox
The ADV 160 uses a CVT automatic transmission, so there's no manual shifting involved, just twist-and-go convenience.
Handling & Ride Quality
Brakes
Braking duties are handled by disc brakes on both the front and rear wheels, paired with single-channel ABS, which should add a decent layer of safety.
Handling & Ride Quality
The scooter rides on 14-inch front and 13-inch rear wheels wrapped in block-pattern tyres, which should help with a bit of rough-road capability alongside regular city riding. We expect the ride quality to be good enough on bad roads, as it is an ADV-themed maxi-scooter.

Rivals To Consider
Once launched, the Honda ADV 160 should compete with maxi-scooters like the Yamaha Aerox 155 and the Hero Xoom 160. This will be the second adventure-styled scooter in India after the Xoom 160.
Pros & Cons
Good Things
- Feature-loaded, gets TFT connected screen
- Looks muscular with adventure-themed styling
- E85-compliant, powerful liquid-cooled engine
Could Be Better
- Only gets a single-channel ABS
