A mini bike with a big personality, and one feature that even the bigger bikes don’t have

    Honda Monkey 125:

Honda has launched the 2026 Monkey 125 in Indonesia. The bike is priced at Rp 88,094,000 (approximately Rs 4.66 lakh). Here is everything you need to know about the retro-styled mini-bike:

    Design

     Monkey 125

The Honda Monkey 125’s design is similar to the Honda Z Series minibikes from the 1960s. It still holds the retro styling while offering modern convenience features. It is called the 'monkey' for a reason – the riding posture gives adult riders a monkey-like appearance. It may look unusual, but that’s exactly what gives the bike its character.

    Engine

     Monkey 125

The Honda Monkey is powered by a 124cc air-cooled engine similar to the Honda Grom. It produces 9.4PS and 11Nm, and is paired to a 5-speed gearbox.

    Underpinnings

     Monkey 125

The Honda Monkey 125 rolls on 12-inch tyres at both ends and is wrapped with a 120-section at the front and 130-section on the rear. The mini-bike has an inverted fork and non-adjustable twin rear shocks from Showa. The bike has a seat height of 776mm and ground clearance of 175mm. The braking duties are handled by 220mm front disc and 190mm rear disc. The bike gets an adequate 5.6-litre fuel tank for its size

    Features

     Monkey 125

The 2026 Honda Monkey has all-LED lights, with a circular headlight.. The bike gets a digital display that shows the speedometer, odometer, trip meters, fuel gauge, and high-beam indicator.

On the safety front, it features an IMU-controlled single-channel ABS for rider safety – now that’s quite an interesting feature for a minibike. Additionally, USB Type-C charging is available as an optional genuine accessory, allowing riders to charge their phones on the go.

    BikeDekho Says

The Honda Monkey 125 is a cool-looking bike. However, with its price tag, it competes with some premium motorcycles. Honda had previously introduced the Honda Navi in India, which sold in fewer numbers. Given the niche for mini-bikes, the chances of Honda launching the Monkey 125 in India are highly unlikely – especially with its price.
