Hero Splendor Plus

The Hero Splendor is the most popular 100cc commuter bike in India, and has been a favourite of Indian consumers since its launch. Over the years, Hero had brought some much-needed updates to the bike to keep it relevant. But at its heart, it is still the same, no-nonsense commuter bike that it was from over two decades ago.

The 2025 Splendor Plus was launched back in April, and it has received some much needed changes, which we have highlighted here. The brand has also launched a special edition of the Splendor Plus this year, and it features a unique colour scheme and some other changes.

• From the front it looks exactly like the original Hero Splendor thanks to the rectangular headlight and turn indicator setup.

• The bike still has the same slim profile, with the rectangular tank and long single-piece seat, and it looks good

• The metallic pillion grab rail looks quite rugged and also offers the option to mount luggage, a nice addition

• The  bike is offered in a wide range of colour options depending on the variant, and all of them look really good. Our favorite is the Black Red Purple colour scheme which is basically the most popular colour scheme of the original Splendor

• The metallic badging on the side panels adds a premium touch to the bike

• Unlike the earlier Splendors, the 2025 Hero Splendor is only available with alloy wheels with tubeless tyres.

• The Hero Splendor Plus gets a simple dual-pod instrument console with a speedometer and fuel gauge, which is quite easy to read and offers an old-school feel

• You can also charge your phone while riding using the USB charging port on the bike

• The i3S variant of the 2025 Splendor Plus comes with an idle start-stop system, which automatically cuts the engine when the engine is idling for a few seconds in neutral. It automatically restarts the engine when you pull the clutch in again. This is really helpful in increasing the mileage of the bike.

• Riding the Splendor is quite a comfortable experience, both during short commutes and long trips, thanks to the upright and relaxed riding posture

• Shorter city commutes are really comfortable thanks to the softly cushioned seat

• Longer rides can become uncomfortable, as the rider tends to sink into seat due to the soft seat foam

• The Hero Splendor Plus gets time-trusted 97.2cc air-cooled engine that’s known for its reliability and high mileage 

• Quick overtakes in the city are easy as the engine produces enough power and torque to keep up with traffic

• Engine feels smooth and relaxed at city speeds

• There are noticeable vibrations at speeds higher than 75kmph

• The Splendor offers amazing mileage, and in our tests we got 83.2kmpl in the city and 95.8kmpl on the highway

• Most bumps and potholes on road will be felt as the suspension is set slightly towards the stiffer side
• Riding with a pillion or luggage makes the ride quality better

• Easy and slow braking is alright, but hard braking requires some effort 
• The bike feels agile and nimble to move around in traffic and tight spaces thanks to its lightweight

• The 2025 Hero Splendor Plus is one of the most reliable and frugal bikes in the 100cc commuter segment in India

• It is quite suitable for someone who wants a bike for a hasslefree, easy everyday riding

• The Splendor Plus is known for its ease of maintenance and Hero’s widespread service network makes it easy to service it anywhere in the country

• It’s priced at par with its rivals, and also offers a decent set of features, making it a value-for-money bike. But now, the GST 2.0-led price drop has made it even more affordable.
