The 125cc segment in India is very competitive, blending sporty performance with daily usability. The Glamour X 125 is Hero MotoCorp’s sharpest attempt at making a mark here. With a powerful engine, revised styling elements, and tons of new segment-first features, the Glamour X 125 aims to deliver a more dynamic riding experience while still retaining the commuter-friendly DNA the Glamour range is known for. But how well does it stack up against its rivals? I had the opportunity to spend quite a lot of time riding the bike in various conditions, and here is what I think about the bike in a detailed report.

2025 Hero Glamour X 125 was launched in India on August 19, 2025, and it’s the most feature-packed 125cc bike in India.

That said, it will receive a price cut because of the new GST rates.

Hero Glamour X 125: Design

One look at the Glamour X 125 and I feel it is a handsome-looking motorcycle. It looks muscular, just like the older model. However, there are small tweaks that go a long way in making the bike look even better. The fuel tank has been redesigned, and the extensions are now beefier and aggressive. The LED headlamp is quite sleek, but the overall silhouette looks bigger due to the large windscreen, while also looking more purposeful. There are a few chrome elements present on the bike, such as the exhaust cover, but they add a touch of elegance to the overall sporty appeal of the Glamour X 125.

Hero Glamour X 125: Colours

Hero offers the bike in bold, youthful colour schemes like Black Pearl Red, Black Teal Red, Candy Blazing Red, Matt Metallic Silver and Metallic Nexus Blue. These vibrant paint schemes match the bike’s sporty aesthetics and help it stand out in a sea of commuters. While all the colours look quite good, it is the Candy Blazing Red that really makes the bike stand out the most and garners a lot of attention.

Hero Glamour X 125: Build Quality

While the overall build quality on this Glamour is better, there are a few niggles here and there. The paint finish is good, but the plastics feel a bit flimsy, and panel gaps are evident. The feedback from the switches could have been better. While it may not match the premium feel of some rivals, it is more than acceptable for the price point it commands.

Hero Glamour X 125: Convenience Features

The bike gets a fully-digital LCD instrument console that offers all the necessary information, including gear position, trip meters, fuel efficiency, and a clock. The console also supports smartphone connectivity that allows call/SMS alerts and turn-by-turn navigation. It also gets a few segment-first features, such as ride-by-wire that enables cruise control and three ride modes: Eco, Road and Power. The cruise control works quite well while the ride modes alter the throttle response of the motorcycle, as I could distinguish between the three modes well. The inclusion of hazard lights and an engine kill switch does add a practical touch.

Hero Glamour X 125: Safety Features

Brakes include a disc at the front and a drum at the rear. The braking setup works well under most conditions, but the addition of a single-channel ABS would’ve elevated its feel significantly. Additionally, the panic brake alert and the side-stand engine cut-off are good safety features to have.

Hero Glamour X 125: Rider Comfort

The riding posture is upright and comfortable for riders of all statures. The seat is well-padded and contoured to offer good support, even over longer rides. Also, the seat height of 790mm makes it easily accessible to shorter riders, while the low kerb weight of 127kg means that manoeuvring the bike in tight parking spaces is quite easy.

Hero Glamour X 125: Pillion Comfort

There is an ample amount of space for the pillion as the seat is quite spacious for even two large adults. The single-piece grab rail is easy to hold, but taller pillion riders might feel cramped over longer rides due to the slightly higher pillion footrests.

Hero Glamour X 125: Engine

The 124.7cc, air-cooled engine is a significant step up from Glamour Xtec’s unit. The Glamour X makes more power and torque than the regular Glamour. It produces 11.55PS and 10.5Nm, putting it in the same ballpark as rivals like the Honda SP125. The refinement has improved, and the throttle response feels more lively and engaging, especially in the ‘Power’ ride mode.

Hero Glamour X 125: City Performance

In the city, the Glamour X feels quick, and light on its feet. It is responsive at low revs and builds speed without hesitation. Although the gear shifts are slightly clunky, the clutch action is light, making it a breeze to ride in traffic. The light kerb weight also makes it quite flickable to ride in urban conditions.  

Hero Glamour X 125: Highway Performance

Out on the highway, the bike can comfortably cruise between 70-80kmph. It can stretch to around 100kmph if pushed, but beyond that, it starts to feel quite strained. The more powerful engine definitely has a better top-end than before, but this is still more of a fast commuter than an outright sporty 125cc motorcycle.

Hero Glamour X 125: Mileage

The Hero Glamour is well known to be a fuel-efficient motorcycle. Hero claims that the Glamour X 125 will return a mileage of 65kmpl. The Glamour X shares the same engine as the Xtreme 125R on which we got an average tested mileage of 63.5kmpl in a mix of city and highway riding conditions. So, we wouldn't be surprised if the Glamour X 125 also returned as much as it claims. With a 10-litre tank, the bike should easily be able to do around 600km on a full tank of fuel.

Hero Glamour X 125: Handling

The bike is quite agile and instills the rider with confidence. Whether it’s weaving through traffic or taking on twisty roads, the Glamour X feels composed. Although not an outright sporty commuter motorcycle, it does the job quite well in changing directions without making the rider feel nervous.  

Hero Glamour X 125: Tyres

The Glamour X uses tubeless rubber called ‘Blaze’ from JK Tyres.. The tyres are not the most confidence-inspiring, considering what the bike is capable of, but they offer decent grip in most riding conditions and for the performance of the bike. That said, I found them adequate for everyday use.

Hero Glamour X 125: Brakes

The braking performance on the Hero Glamour X is decent, especially with the front disc variant. While I would have preferred more feedback on the lever, it has decent progression, and CBS works well to balance the braking force. However, the lack of single-channel ABS is still a noticeable miss. That said, experienced riders might have liked the bite and progression from the brakes to be sharper.

Hero Glamour X 125: Ride Quality

The ride quality on the Glamour X 125 is quite decent, to say the least. The suspension setup will handle rough patches without feeling unstable, and the rear shock absorbers do a good job of absorbing road imperfections. Albeit for a commuter motorcycle, the setup is slightly on the firmer side, but not uncomfortable. But the ride quality only gets better with a pillion on board, as the suspension then absorbs undulations even better.

The Hero Glamour X 125 is the most powerful, feature-rich and capable iteration of the bike yet. It is a good blend of style, performance, features and everyday usability in a package that’s really fun. While it still misses out on a TFT console or single-channel ABS, the overall experience it offers is very solid. For someone looking for a stylish and engaging city bike with occasional highway duties, the Glamour X 125 is now a motorcycle you should definitely consider, especially considering the price point as well.

Hero is currently offering the bike in two variants: Drum and Disc. The Drum variant gets a drum brake at the front and misses out on quite a few features, such as ride modes, cruise control, LED indicators and an LED taillight – all of which are exclusive to the more expensive disc variant.

As of now, the Hero Glamour X is priced from Rs 89,999 to Rs 99,999 (ex-showroom, Delhi). For what it offers, a more powerful engine than the Glamour Xtec, a long list of features, revised sporty design language, and the exciting colour schemes, the Glamour X writes a pretty compelling story for itself and makes for a pretty good all-rounder for such a lucrative price tag.
