Super Splendor XTEC Expert Review

Hero Super Splendor Variants
The Super Splendor is currently available in the XTEC guise only. Buyers can choose between 2 variants: front drum or disc brake.

Hero Super Splendor Design
The Hero Super Splendor XTEC has a conventional commuter bike design. It gets a headlamp cowl, large side panels, and a clean, integrated pillion grab rail. The updated graphics and bodywork give the bike a refreshed appearance without straying far from its familiar Splendor identity.

Hero Super Splendor Engine Performance
Powering the Super Splendor XTEC is a 124.7cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine that is shared with the Hero Glamour XTEC. It makes 10.84PS at 7,500rpm, 10.6Nm at 6,000rpm, and is paired to a 5-speed gearbox. It also gets Hero’s i3S idle start-stop system - it shuts off the engine at idle and restarts it with a pull of the clutch lever.

Super Splendor Features
The Hero Super Splendor XTEC features an LED headlight, LCD console, Bluetooth connectivity, and call/SMS alerts. It also includes a real-time mileage indicator, service reminder, side-stand down engine cut-off sensor, USB charge port, and ‘AutoSail’ (Hero’s name for its low rpm assist technology).

Super Splendor Chassis, Brakes, Wheels, Suspension
The Super Splendor XTEC is built on a tubular double cradle frame, a telescopic fork, and 5-step preload adjustable dual shocks. It gets 130mm drum brakes at both ends, while the disc variant gets a 240mm front disc - both with CBS (Combined Braking System). It rides on 18-inch alloy wheels with an 80-section front and a 90-section rear tyre - both tubeless. It has a 793mm seat height, 180mm of ground clearance, 12-litre fuel tank, kerb weight of 122kg for drum variant and 123kg for the disc.

Super Splendor Competition
The Super Splendor XTEC competes with other 125cc bikes like the Hero Glamour XTEC, TVS Raider, Bajaj Pulsar 125, Honda Shine 125 and SP 125. While competitors may offer sportier styling and more features - the Super Splendor stands out for its reliability, comfort, and mileage. The price meanwhile is on par with almost all its rivals in its segment.
