Neo-retro Triumph Bonneville T4 to adventure and electric bikes for the same price

    T4 SPOO

When it comes to retro motorcycles, the Triumph Bonneville needs no introduction. Now, Triumph is bringing that iconic heritage to the mass-market neo-retro segment with the Bonneville T4, making classic British styling more accessible to a wider audience. Inspired by its bigger siblings, it gets the same teardrop-shaped fuel tank, spoked wheels, twin shocks and peashooter-style exhaust that define the Bonneville family. Under its classy retro skin sits the same 29PS, 31.2Nm, 350cc liquid-cooled single that powers the other lower displacement Triumphs in India. Its contemporary feel comes from a 4-inch circular colour LCD, turn-by-turn navigation, riding modes, dual-channel ABS, and traction control.

The Triumph Bonneville offers a true neo-retro ride experience at a fairly accessible price of Rs 2.8 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). However, if you want to explore more options with different personalities, here are some interesting alternatives around the same ballpark.

    Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Apex

    Price: Rs 2,51,063-2,58,309 (ex-showroom, Delhi)

    T4 SPOO

If you want to stick to the neo-retro format, but want a sportier ride, the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Apex makes a strong case. Powered by a 452cc liquid-cooled engine that produces 40PS and 40Nm, it offers a clear performance advantage. The Apex version also gets a more aggressive riding position, wider 120/70 and 160/60 R17 Vredestein tyres, and dedicated Sport and Street riding modes.

Premium hardware, including Showa suspension, disc brakes and dual-channel ABS, is tuned to deliver sharper handling, confident braking and a more engaging riding experience. Its 780mm seat height makes it pretty accessible, and its Tripper Dash with maps, music and messages adds further to the convenience.

    Harley-Davidson X440

    Price: Rs 2,35,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi)

    T4 SPOO

If you prefer a more comfortable ride that leans towards cruising rather than outright sportiness, the Harley-Davidson X440 is perhaps a better choice. This modern cruiser, featuring KYB USD front forks, gas-filled twin rear shocks, wide handlebars, and an upright riding position, is designed for both city riding and relaxed highway cruising.

Its 440cc air-oil-cooled single, paired with a six-speed gearbox, produces 27bhp and 38Nm, and is tuned for a very tractable low and mid-range. Disc brakes at both ends, dual-channel ABS, and a 3.5-inch TFT display with connected features further enhance its appeal as a complete package.

    Honda Rebel 300 E-Clutch

    Price: Rs 2,62,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi)

    T4 SPOO

If you’re looking for something genuinely different, Honda’s latest low-slung bobber, the Rebel 300, is definitely worth a closer look. While its unique appearance is the most interesting part of the package, the refined 286cc liquid-cooled engine underneath is also impressive. Another highlight is its E-Clutch system, which lets you change gears and start or stop without manually operating the clutch lever, while still allowing you to use the lever whenever you want.

The Rebel also features a TFT display with Honda RoadSync, turn-by-turn navigation, LED lighting and disc brakes with dual-channel ABS. Plus, its low 690mm seat makes it super accessible and comfortable for most Indian riders. Moreover, its standard version is Rs 40,000 cheaper, making the Rebel 300 a more interesting package for those who don’t need the convenience of E-Clutch.

    KTM 250 Adventure

    Price: Rs 2,40,010 (ex-showroom, Delhi)

    T4 SPOO

The KTM 250 Adventure takes things in a completely different direction. Instead of classic styling and laid-back riding, it focuses on touring and off-road capability. Its 249cc liquid-cooled engine produces 31PS and 25Nm, and comes with a six-speed gearbox and Quickshifter+. It also offers a connected five-inch TFT screen with navigation, off-road ABS, and ride-by-wire.

With 19-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheels, a long-travel WP suspension setup with USD front forks and adjustable rear monoshock, 228mm ground clearance and a 14.5-litre fuel tank, it is far more prepared for bad roads and long-distance riding.

    Ultraviolette X47 Crossover Base/Original

    Price: Rs 2,49,000-2,64,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi)

    T4 SPOO

The Ultraviolette X47 Crossover is the most futuristic motorcycle here, making a completely different riding equation. The entry X47 electric motorcycle uses a 7.1kWh battery, produces 27kW (36.7PS) and offers a claimed 211km IDC range. It can reach 145kmph and do 0-60kmph in 2.8 seconds.

The Original adds Ultraviolette’s HyperSense radar technology, while the X47 range also offers features such as dual-channel ABS, traction control, multiple regenerative braking levels, a 5-inch touchscreen and connected functions. It has an 820mm seat height and upright ergonomics, making it a much more tech-heavy and performance-oriented alternative to the traditional Triumph formula.

    Yamaha YZF R2M

    Price: Rs 2,53,000 (ex-showroom, Delhi)

    T4 SPOO

For those who would prefer a fully faired sports bike for their money, Yamaha has introduced the YZF-R2M. Underneath its R1-inspired aerodynamic body sits a new 204cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine producing 26.5PS and 19.1Nm. Paired with a six-speed gearbox, the R2M gets the top-spec treatment with a bi-directional quickshifter, adjustable front and rear suspension, adjustable levers and a Smart Key system.

With a five-inch connected TFT console, riding modes, traction control and dual-channel ABS, the R2M caters to riders seeking a modern sports bike with a strong focus on performance.
