Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 - Introduction

    RE Guerrilla 450 Apex

The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is a roadster that shares a platform with the Himalayan 450. It is essentially a more compact and accessible motorcycle that will appeal to a wider range of riders. The brand has launched updated Guerrilla 450 with a new sporty Apex variant, that gets slight aesthetic changes, sportier ergonomics and road-biased tyres. Overall, the Guerrilla 450 has a unique styling, potent performance and goes up mainly against the likes of the Triumph Speed 400, KTM 390 Duke, and the Husqvarna Svartpilen 401.

    Design & Quality

    Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Design

    RE Guerrilla 450 Apex

The Guerrilla 450 looks similar to the Hunter 350 from the front with the round LED headlight that we see shared with many other RE bikes, fork gaiters, and a new, sleeker tank with an offset fuel cap. The rear section on the other hand looks very similar to that of the Himalayan 450 with the same exhaust and taillight-integrated turn indicators. The Apex variant, on the other hand, gets a body-coloured headlight cowl and a removable seat cowl, both of which come standard and suit the overall sporty vibe of this variant. Here's how the Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 looks in real-life.

    RE Guerrilla 450 Apex

Like with all RE motorcycles, there are a bunch of accessories for personalization including a flyscreen, a headlight grille, crash guards, different seat options and more. The Guerrilla is a unique looking motorcycle and I personally feel it looks like a bike that has entered a custom bike competition. At first, I was not a big fan of the design, but upon getting a look at it every once in a while on the streets, I have to say that the design has grown on me.

    Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Colours

    RE Guerrilla 450 Apex

There are a bunch of youthful and loud colour schemes to choose from. They include Apex Red, Apex Black, Apex Green, Twilight Blue, Shadow Ash, Peix Bronze, Smoke Silver, and Brava Blue. My favourite colour scheme from the lot has to be Brava Blue, as it is subtle but still has some standout elements like a colour-matched subframe and front wheel. One thing that I think would further improve the design is a more muscular fuel tank.

Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Build Quality

    RE Guerrilla 450 Apex

The build quality and fit and finish of the bike is quite good and it catches attention wherever it goes. It is a unique design that manages to look classy, rugged, and sporty, all at once. While the switchgear also works fairly well, I personally do not like the knob (rotary) dials on the new Royal Enfield models.

    3.5
    Features & Practicality

Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Convenience Features

    RE Guerrilla 450 Apex

All variants get the same round, TFT instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity and Google Maps navigation that we see in the Himalayan 450. Additionally, it also gets a Type-C, USB charging port. The visibility of the console is decent under most riding conditions, and it changes the theme from light to dark depending on lighting conditions. Visibility under harsh sunlight is not the best as it tends to reflect off the screen. With the launch of the Apex Variant, the brand also introduced minor updates for the console. Earlier while using the Google map projection, the mobile phone screen was kept on, which resulted in a lot of battery drain, now with the update, there is an option to turn the screen off. Ideally this should have saved a considerable amount of battery, but while I used it, my phone consumed a similar amount of battery as it did with the screen kept on. We have detailed everything in the 2026 Royal Enfield Guerrilla features explainer.

Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Safety Features

    RE Guerrilla 450 Apex

The Guerrilla comes with dual‑channel ABS, and a ride‑by‑wire, but misses out on traction control. Throughout my time spent with the bike, I never really felt the need for traction control, even in the rainy season. That being said, it would be a nice addition for newer riders.

    3.5
    Rider & Pillion Comfort

Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Rider Comfort

    RE Guerrilla 450 Apex

The Guerrilla 450 has a long single-piece seat, wide handlebars and mid-set footpegs that offer a neutral and comfortable riding posture. With my 5 '7 frame, I was able to flat foot to the ground easily but the tank area might feel emptier as it is placed lower. The long seat also allowed me to get into a more aggressive riding posture when I was at higher speeds. The cushioning of the seat is nicely done where it has a bit of firmness to it, which allowed me to do slightly longer distances before any discomfort creeped in. Additionally, the kerb weight of 184kg makes it heavy while moving around in a parking lot but is manageable once the bike is on the go.

    RE Guerrilla 450 Apex

The riding experience on the Apex Variant was quite different, mainly due to the revised handlebar position. The new aluminium handlebar brings controls 56mm lower and 57mm further from the rider. This provides for a more aggressive riding posture and helps in enthusiastic riding. We rode the Apex variant for about 150km, and even after that there was no noticeable back pain as such. Hence, even though this new variant focuses on being a more sportier and aggressive version, it still provides a decently comfortable riding experience.

Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Pillion Comfort

    RE Guerrilla 450 Apex

While that sleek tail section is great to look at, it is not the most practical for the pillion. The rear part of the seat gets slimmer so it will not easily accommodate larger riders. There are grab rails which are fine for short stints in the city, but in the rainy season, the rear tyre sprays both the rider and the pillion. In this sense, it is surely more form over function. The new Apex Variant comes with a seat cowl as standard, and it doesn't interfere with the rider comfort. If you want to carry a pillion, the seat cowl needs to be removed using four allen screws—but surprisingly, Royal Enfield doesn’t include the required tool in the toolkit.

    4.0
    Engine & Performance

    Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Engine

    RE Guerrilla 450 Apex

The Guerrilla is powered by the same 452cc, liquid-cooled ‘Sherpa’ engine which made its debut in the Himalayan 450. It makes the same 40.02PS and 40Nm although, with a kerb weight of 184 kg, it is 11 kg lighter than the Himalayan 450. This weight reduction has a lot to do with the fact that the Guerrilla has a much smaller 11-litre tank compared to the large 17-litre tank on the Himalayan. To suit the roadster character of the Guerrilla, Royal Enfield has given the bike a 45-tooth sprocket, compared to the Himalayan which gets a 47-tooth sprocket.

Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: City Performance

    RE Guerrilla 450 Apex

The Guerrilla has really exciting acceleration, and with the compact proportions, it is a slick motorcycle to get through traffic. The acceleration might be a bit intimidating for newer riders as it feels a bit aggressive, but it just takes a bit of getting used to. With the new update, Royal Enfield has changed the names of the two ride modes which the Guerrilla gets. They are now called Sport and Street (earlier called Performance and Eco).

    RE Guerrilla 450 Apex

In the Sport mode, the bike offers the maximum performance, while in Street mode the acceleration feels slightly linear with a slightly more city friendly power delivery. Along with this, the brand has also updated the ride-by-wire throttle, and it doesn't have any noticeable jerks as before.

Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Highway Performance

    RE Guerrilla 450 Apex

On the highway, the Guerrilla is easily able to hold speeds of 100-120kmph. There were a few vibrations once I pushed past the 6000rpm mark and they got more prominent over 8000rpm.  Compared to the Himalayan, the motor in the Guerrilla does not feel as vibey.

    Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Mileage

    RE Guerrilla 450 Apex

The Guerrilla 450 gave us an average mileage of 29.08kmpl in mixed riding conditions when we tested it. Comparing it to one of its main rivals, the Speed 400 returned an average mileage of 26.25kmpl, making it less fuel efficient than the Guerrilla. On a full tank of fuel, the Guerrilla 450 should be able to do around 300km.

    3.5
    Ride Quality & Handling

    Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Handling

    RE Guerrilla 450 Apex

The Guerrilla 450 has a long wheelbase and wider tyres than its rivals, with a 120-section front and 160-section rear. The Apex variant gets road-focused Vredestein Centauro ST tyres, while the other 2026 variants come with improved CEAT Grip XL tyres. With the Vredestein tyres, cornering feels easy and smooth, switching sides is effortless, and once leaned in, it holds its line confidently.

    RE Guerrilla 450 Apex

The Centauro ST tyres offer excellent grip in dry conditions and good grip in the wet. The older CEAT tyres were not that good in terms of the grip, but the brand claims that a revised compound should make matters better for everyday rides.

    Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Brakes

    RE Guerrilla 450 Apex

The Guerrilla 450 is running a 310mm front and 270mm rear disc setup. The front brake has a decent initial bite. On the other hand, the rear brake is not as powerful, but it gets the job done. Overall, the brakes inspire enough confidence and bring the bike to a halt in a stable manner. For a 400cc bike, the braking performance offered is what you would want and expect.

Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Ride Quality

    RE Guerrilla 450 Apex

The rear suspension is really stiff and while that might be nice for riding in the twisties, it does get uncomfortable when the bike goes through potholes and undulations. Do not get me wrong, it does handle small bumps decently well, but you have to slow down quite a bit or it feels jarring. The block-pattern tyres are again more form than function and I would not recommend taking this bike off-road without necessary modifications.

    4.0
    Verdict (4/5)

    Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Verdict

    RE Guerrilla 450 Apex

The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 is a unique motorcycle that does not want to be practical in any way, but make a loud statement. It is a roadster that offers really potent performance, unique, stylish looks, and it surely gives a rider a big-bike feel on a budget. There are many elements that are more form than function which is actually an interesting approach taken by Royal Enfield considering the needs and wants of the Indian customer. In the future, we hope to see a scrambler on this platform, which should then make it even more desirable.

    Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Variants

    RE Guerrilla 450 Apex

There are three variants of the Guerrilla 450. The Flash and Dash variants get the same round, TFT instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity and Google Maps navigation. Additionally, the only other element distinguishing the variants apart are the colour schemes.

    Rivals To Consider

    Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Competition

The Triumph Speed 400 is its main competitor that has a more refined engine, sharper handling and is priced cheaper. The Guerrilla 450 has quicker acceleration and is the larger motorcycle from the two. In the end, it all comes down to personal preference.

The KTM 390 Duke is more expensive than the Guerrilla 450, and also offers a lot more features, along with highly praised performance and handling characteristics. One is a modern streetfighter, while the other is a neo-retro roadster.

The Harley-Davidson X440 is more of a retro cruiser style bike, but in terms of engine capacity it sits quite close to the Guerrilla 450. That said, these bikes still offer very different performance, and handling

Its amazing. Dont think too much, just get one
It is a beautiful bike- that never feels boring. The acceleration is undefeatable! and while it is sporty, it is surprisingly practical too. It's neither too heavy nor too tall, unlike the Himalayan. Its an absolute attention grabber and I love the colour I chose (brava blue). To sum it up- I chose this bike because it was beautiful, it was fast and it seemed practical enough for my use. I use this bike as my daily, and it has never failed me. It feels stable, planted, easy to manage. It always feels like i'm in control, I have not had a feeling of anxiety that it'll wobble, slip or be uncontrollable even once that I have ridden this bike even on high speeds. The fat rear tyre makes me confident even in rain. the feels grippy even on wet roads, loose gravel- though the bike did splash water on my back in rain, I just got the rear mudguard extender from Enfield and now it's not a problem, though I believe it should've been company fitted. The suspensions are comfortable for daily use, and even in Ghaziabad's bumpy roads I almost do not feel a thing. The engine yearns to red line, the bike wants to go fast and I love it every time I pull the throttle. The mileage is reasonable, with 25 on normal city commute (in power mode, using eco mode pushes that up to around 28. I can manage to get 32 if I ride carefully, maintaining gears to keep the engine at 4-5k rpm and not pulling the throttle/ yanking the breaks unnecessarily) It does get hot in the summers, but honestly I can smell the engine getting hot more than I feel it. Its hard to explain really, but hot air does not blow on my leg when riding so that's good, occasionally the win direction may align and the hot air may blow onto your face- but again thats rare. I am a bit conflicted on highway rides, because it is fun to ride on the highway, but the seat does make your buns feel sore after a while, but its manageable. highway mileage is around 28-29 in power mode, and around 30-32 in eco mode. I would recommend this bike everybody over any other bikes in this segment (except the adv tourers, if you can manage them ofcourse). Anyone can buy this bike if i'm being honest, Its fun, its not tall, its not heavy, its not too expensive to maintain, the breaks are reliable, Its stable, the riding posture is good, and its not scary to ride. you connect with the bike in the first ride. I love it, and i'm pretty sure you'll love it too. just go for it.

One of the best bikes in segment!!!!
I chose this because it's different from classic royal enfield bikes, it has better performance for city riding lighter weight, excellent acceleration a balanced bike with 450cc engine, ideal for smooth city riding and some adventure too just love it. My experience with this bike is lovely, it's my 2nd bike earlier I owned 125cc upgrading to 450cc just feels magical it offers smooth riding with enough torque and power to gap almost every vehicle on road. I like it's fast acceleration it offers a whole different experience for royal enfield bikes. Yes absolutely, I would recommend you to buy this if you are looking for 450cc segment than this is the best bikes, ngl ideally for daily riding or even if you want to ride on hilly areas it offers a smooth experience 40N/m torque will let you experience dominance on road.

This is a great bike which never disappoint rider
I was looking perfect combo of performance and the retro look of royal enfield. That's when I came accross this bike guerilla 450 a perfect combination of style, performance, looks, features. If someone is looking for an upgrade they must consider it. Pros that the power of 40 bhp can be actually feel while riding the initial pull on second gear and the bike goes insanely fast.this bike also got full tft display which several useful features such as navigation, etc cons of this bikes are its has low mileage as it's 450 but it also got lower fuel tank capacity which leads to frequent fuel stops. the initial low end torque of all the gears except 1st gear is way less. If someone is trying to upgrade their bike from 200 or 350 cc they must give it a try. This bike never disappoints in terms of performance, style and road presence. except for its lower mileage and less fuel capacity this bike is really worth the price

      Nice performance bike
Nice bike with very good performance, sitting posture upright and commanding, mileage is good as its a big cc bike I can get around 30kmpl in highway and 24-26 kmpl in the city. Royal Enfield service is also very good and its low maintenance as compare to big bikes like triumph 400, so overall its a amazing bike and its thrilling to ride the bike.

RE guerrilla 450 ride review after 10 months
It has a stylish look and comfortable for Rides any Hight group can ride it it's not a family friendly bike i choose this bike because of its looks and initiate pickup the bike is fun to ride motorcycle but remember that it does not have full turning radius and it comes with only 11 litres of fule capacity The speed i have driven this bike is 165kph it has the best pickup in 2nd gear i have ever driven in 400cc segment it just has one issue of mileage it just gives a mileage of 24-25 kmpl and maximum of 35 kmpl on highway Anybody can buy this bike but remember one thing it just has 11 litres of fule capacity so it can cause issues on long Rides and yes I will definitely recomend this bike to buy because of its looks and initial pickup

RE that kills and sit on top over other's
Actually I want best engine that's it that's the only reason I bought this bike super powerful super easy to ride and you will definitely feel the power in your hand but in long run your butt will feel hell See every bike has positives and negatives but this bike has a very good engine. The power is nearly 40bhp and 40nm torque which is very good for daily day to day task but the headlight is little low you have to install fog light for sure and don't think you will get a good milage and yes it's miss out some cool but yes it's RE you can trust. If your daily run is in highways mainly more then 60% in highways then go and buy you will not regret but if you have to ride this in city mainly please focus more as this bike feels little heavy and the radiator fan work's quickly because of it's big engine so think if you ride in city.

    Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 Mileage

    AIstar

    Owners Reported Real World Mileage

    AI summary
    crown
This is an AI-generated summary based on all real user experiences and reviews.

Owners report mileage around 22 km/l in city and up to 27-30 km/l on highways. Mileage tends to drop under performance riding, but is generally acceptable for a 450cc Royal Enfield focused on power and style rather than fuel efficiency.

The Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 has an ARAI claimed mileage of 29.5 kmpl, which applies to all its variants. Therefore, considering its fuel tank capacity of 13 litres, the approximate range on a full tank would be 468kms. However, actual mileage may vary depending on factors such as riding style and tyre pressure.
