Royal Enfield Himalayan Electric Summary
The latest post-earnings call from Royal Enfield's parent company, Eicher Motors, has provided us with additional details regarding the manufacturer's plans for the launch of the first Royal Enfield electric bike.
The Royal Enfield Electric Himalayan prototype was showcased at EICMA 2023. The manufacturer’s first-ever electric concept is a testbed for their future electric concepts. The battery pack has been designed in-house and it gets a composite bodywork made out of materials such as Organic Flax Fibre.
It gets a gold inverted fork, gas-charged Ohlins monoshock (both likely to be fully adjustable), aluminium swingarm, disc brakes at both ends and SM Pro Platinum spoke wheels (likely to be 21-inch front and 17-inch unit at the rear) with block pattern tyres.
The production version of this concept is still several years away and we think the learnings from this motorcycle will be used to develop other Royal Enfield EVs, which are more likely to hit the production line first.
