TVS Apache RTR 310 - Introduction

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310 Overview

The TVS Apache RTR 310 is one of the most feature-packed naked streetfighters on sale in India. With aggressive styling, and the potent engine from the RR 310, it aims to deliver an exciting city riding experience. The 2025 model has received a bunch of updates and the best part is that the bike has now become cheaper than before. I got a chance to ride the motorcycle on the streets and the Coastt circuit in Coimbatore to bring you a detailed review on how the updates have enhanced the riding experience.

    Design & Build Quality

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310 Front Three Quarters

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310: Design

The RTR 310 has a sharp, streetfighter-inspired design with a muscular fuel tank, aggressive lines, and a large dual-LED headlamp. The gold, inverted front forks and sculpted tail section enhances the sporty appeal. The overall design might be appreciated by many but I personally find it a bit disproportionate from some angles. That said, design is a matter of personal preference. The new model sports a set of hand guards which look and feel durable for sure, but in my opinion, do not go well with the sharp styling of the bike. Additionally, it gets a transparent clutch cover just like we had seen on the updated RR 310 and sequential indicators along with sequential DRLs are also part of the package.

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310 Colours

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310: Colours

There are now four colour options to choose from with new graphics including Fury Yellow, Arsenal Black, Fiery Red, and Sepang Blue. My personal favourite is the Sepang Blue scheme with red wheels. If I had to nitpick about the design, I would say that the headlight could have been sleeker as it does not go with the sharp theme of the bike and feels a bit too large.

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310: Build Quality

TVS has ensured that the build quality is top-notch. The materials feel premium and attention has been paid to detailing. The lightweight aluminum subframe and high-strength trellis frame further contribute to its solid build.

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310: Safety Features

TVS has packed the Apache RTR 310 with a suite of safety features, many of which are segment-first. It includes dual-channel cornering ABS and race-tuned stability control powered by a 6-axis IMU, delivering cornering traction, wheelie protection, rear-wheel lift-off protection, and slope-dependent braking to maximise stability. Also onboard are brake assist, a side-stand alarm, and hazard warning lights. Completing the safety suite is a slipper clutch that minimizes rear-wheel slip during aggressive downshifts.

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310 TFT Console

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310: Convenience Features

On the convenience side, the RTR 310 makes use of a 5-inch full-colour TFT screen with Bluetooth-enabled SmartXonnect functionality, giving riders access to turn-by-turn navigation, music, ride telemetry data, document storage, and more. The bike gets four ride modes including Urban, Rain, Sport, and Track. Additionally, it gets a supermoto mode which allows you to switch off ABS at the rear.

One of the best features that works really well is a bi-directional quickshifter. The bike also gets Glide Through Technology (GTT) which allows for smoother launches without throttle input, and cruise control with cornering auto-slow function. It makes use of adjustable clutch and brake levers, and the new model also gets launch control which can be activated in Track mode. The bi-directional quickshifter is available in the Top variant and the BTO model makes use of fully adjustable suspension, among other features. Drag Torque Control is another feature that enhances engine braking so riders can downshift harder without having to worry about wheel slip.

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310 Riding Shot

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310: Rider Comfort

The Apache RTR 310 has relaxed ergonomics where the rider is placed upright with a flat handlebar unit that is set higher up. The footpegs are also slightly lower and forward set than on the RR 310. The bike has a seat height of 800 mm which allows it to accommodate shorter riders easily. It is an easy motorcycle to move around due to its light 169kg kerb weight. Overall, this riding position is comfortable for city and highway riding, but doesn’t feel aggressive enough to tackle twisty roads due to the footpeg position.

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310 Pillion Seat

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310: Pillion Comfort

The pillion seat is adequately padded but will be decent only for short commutes as it is high up and a sleek unit. The grab rails are well-positioned, offering good support during these short rides.

    Engine, Performance, & Mileage

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310 Engine

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310: Engine

Powered by a 312.2cc reverse-inclined DOHC engine, the RTR 310 delivers a peak power of 35.6PS at 9,700 rpm and a maximum torque of 28.7Nm at 6,650 rpm. The performance is enhanced by a bi-directional quickshifter and a slipper clutch. While the new RR 310 received a bump in power, the RTR 310 remains in the same state of tune, but gets a new forged piston.

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310 City Performance

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310: City Performance

In urban settings, the RTR 310 has impressive low-end torque, making city commutes effortless. The throttle response is crisp, and the bike feels agile, maneuvering through traffic with ease. In Urban and Rain mode, the throttle mapping is relaxed, making the bike easier to ride. The motor is also tractable and can easily handle doing low speeds in higher gears. With the shorter gearing, it feels like a stunt bike straight out of the showroom and is ready to get that front wheel up really easily.

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310 Highway Performance

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310: Highway Performance

On highways, the RTR 310 maintains stability and offers confident overtaking capabilities. But because of the shorter gearing, it does feel stressed sitting at 100kmph and there are noticeable vibrations present on the handlebar and the tank. It is smoother than the previous gen model, but still not refined in the high range rpms. The cruise control feature also works well on the highway, but this is not a motorcycle I would recommend for touring.

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310 Side Profile

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310: Mileage

The RTR 310 delivers a mileage of approximately 28km/l depending on riding conditions, and it should offer a range of around 300kms on a full tank.

    4.0
    Handling & Ride Quality

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310 Cornering Shot

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310: Handling

The RTR 310 is a sharp handling motorcycle, thanks to its lightweight construction and well-balanced chassis. The wide handlebars provide excellent leverage, and the bike feels really responsive while hitting twisty roads. The only limitation is the position of the footpegs as they get scraped when you lean lower.

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310 Cornering Shot In Rain

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310: Tyres

The Michelin Road 5 tyres offer phenomenal grip, in the dry and in the wet, enhancing cornering confidence. These might just be the best all weather tyres offered as standard in this segment.

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310 Front Disc Brake

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310: Brakes

The brakes are sharp and do a good job of getting the bike to stop in a stable manner. But, I did find that there was some play on the lever, meaning that I had to grab a handful before I could feel the bite. Do not get me wrong, the brakes do a good job but the initial feel is not present as you would expect. It is just something a rider will get used to.

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310 Rear Suspension

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310: Ride Quality

The ride quality is generally smooth, with the inverted front fork and preload-adjustable monoshock rear suspension absorbing most road imperfections. However, on rough or uneven surfaces, the rear suspension might transmit some jolts to the rider, if they don't slow down to tackle rough terrain. The overall setup is a good mix between sporty riding and everyday commuting.

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310 Verdict

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310: Verdict

The 2025 TVS Apache RTR 310 stands out as a feature-rich, performance-oriented motorcycle in the 300cc segment. With its aggressive design, advanced tech features, and everyday usability, it is worth considering, but depending on what your usage is. The RTR 310 strikes a good middle ground for a rider that wants a comfortable everyday bike that can also be used for the occasional weekend run to the twisties. If a rider wants a sporty bike they are going to use at the track, the RR 310 remains your best bet. There are minor areas for improvement in the RTR 310, such as vibrations at higher speeds which if fixed, would even make it a better tourer. It now becomes a more attractive proposition with the drop in price for 2025.

    Price Analysis

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310: Price

With the new introductory pricing, the RTR 310 is more affordable than before and gets even more features, making it an attractive proposition for a first time buyer or someone upgrading from a 150cc bike. The power is not intimidating, the handling is sharp, confidence inspiring and it is packed with necessary safety and convenience features which are not available in other bikes in the segment. The pricing is introductory so if you have been waiting to get your hands on one, now is the time.

    Competition Check

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310 Rear Cornering Shot

2025 TVS Apache RTR 310: Competition Check

The KTM 250 Duke can be considered the closest competitor of the RTR 310. It is priced slightly lower and offers really potent performance with sharp handling abilities but is not as feature packed. The Triumph Speed 400 can be had for almost the same price as the base variant. It is a bike that offers potent performance with retro looks but again, is not match for the feature list of the RTR 310.

      Impressive Ride Quality Overall
Bought it for the solid build and decent looks. I’ve seen many riders using it for years, so that trust made me pick this one. The reason I chose this bike is showroom is close and service cost is low. Smooth gear shifts and good road grip. I’ve ridden about 3000 km now. Engine still sounds fresh, brakes are tight, and mileage is steady. No issues yet.Starts in one kick, pickup is fine, and suspension feels okay on rough patches. Great mileage with solid engine response. I’d recommend it because it feels strong and trustworthy. Not a showy bike, but it does everything you need without drama. The service os this bike is simple, cost is low, and it runs smooth every day.

      Great Choice for New Riders
Needed a simple, solid bike with less maintenance. Looked at a few reviews and picked this one. It also came with a decent set of features for the price and felt lighter to handle than most other bikes I tested. Rides are comfortable, gear shifts are clean. No problem even after a few long rides. Mileage is fine. The suspension is decent for city roads, though a little stiff on long trips. Still, very reliable overall. I’d recommend it for office and local rides. Not fancy, but it does the job easily. This bike is very easy to maintain for weekend trips, comfortable for short and long rides, and affordable in the long run.

      Bold Power & Smart Design
I wanted something bold and fast but still manageable in city lanes. The 310 caught my eye instantly with its digital display and striking look. I imagined long weekend trips on highways with my friends. It felt like the kind of bike that’s powerful but also smart and safe for daily life. The first ride was pure joy. The pickup is fast, but the control is perfect. It doesn’t shake even at high speeds. The seat is comfortable, and the screen helps track rides easily. I took it on a 150 km highway trip and it performed smoothly without strain or noise. It feels premium and strong. Definitely yes! It is perfect for riders who want style, power and features in one. Feels modern, looks sharp and rides steady. Comfortable for a long trip and easy for a everyday travel. It is one of those bikes that make you smile every time you start it.

A No-Fuss Option for Routine Routes
I opted for this bike because of its sturdy build and spacious seat. The mileage claim was decent, and the footboard space suited my everyday use. It felt durable and simple, exactly what I needed for work and home runs. Riding has been good so far. The bike stays steady even when the road isn’t great. Pickup is smooth, and braking feels confident. It’s easy to handle in crowded markets, and the engine doesn’t strain much during longer rides. I would like to suggest this bike to those who want a reliable daily-use or long and short rides. Works well for family riders too. TVS Apache RTR 310 is a bit more stylish, it can consider a fabulous bike.
