Hero Splendor Plus Highlights
Hero has started an online portal where you can buy any of their two-wheelers and have it delivered at your place without leaving home.
The Hero Splendor Plus is available in three variants: Kick Start, Self Start and Self Start with i3S. While the base variant is priced at Rs 51,290, the Self Start variant and the Self Start with i3S variant are priced at Rs 53,290 and Rs 54,600, respectively (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi).
In terms of features, it gets Hero’s i3S engine start-stop technology, which helps increase the overall efficiency, and AHO (Always Headlamp On). The commuter motorcycle is powered by a 97.2cc, air-cooled, single cylinder motor, which produces 8.36PS at 8000rpm and 8.05Nm at 5000rpm. Transmission duties are taken care of by a 4-speed gearbox. The company claims that the bike offers a mileage of 80.6kmpl. It features a 130mm front drum brake and a 110mm rear drum brake and Hero is also offering its Integrated Braking System (IBS) as standard on the Splendor. It gets a telescopic fork up front and 5-step adjustable shock absorbers at the rear. The 100cc commuter motorcycle is available in five colour options: silver, grey/green, red, black/purple and black/silver. In terms of competition, it goes up against the Bajaj CT100, Honda Dream Neo, TVS Victor and TVS Star City Plus.

HeroMotocorp has updated the Splendor Plus I3S with IBS (Integrated Braking System) which results in a price bump of Rs 650 over the standard bike I3S model. Consequently the Splendor Plus IBS I3S is priced at Rs 54,150 (ex-showroom, Delhi). The Splendor Plus has been one of the most popular and recognized two-wheeler in the Indian market. It retains the same bodywork as the original Splendor but gets new graphics, chrome exhaust muffler cover and alloy wheels. You can also buy one with an electric-starter. It gets 9 colour options: Cloud Silver, Black with Purple Silver, Candy Red, High Granite Blue, Black With Purple, Palace Maroon, Black With Purple Red, Black With Silver, and Excellent Blue.
Its reliable 97.2cc, air-cooled, single cylinder motor produces 8.36PS at 8000rpm and 8.05Nm at 5000rpm. Hero claims the new motor is more refined and can deliver a fuel efficiency figure of 80.6kmpl. The motor comes mated to a four-speed gearbox. It sits on a tubular cradle frame and gets front telescopic forks and rear dual hydraulic shock absorbers. Wheel size are 18-inches on both ends while tyres are of the tube type variety. Braking is via a 130mm front drum brake and a 110mm rear drum brake. It does not get Hero’s Integrated Braking System.
The entry-level kick-start spoke wheel variant is priced at Rs 49,060 while the kick-start alloy wheel variant costs Rs 50,060. The self-start alloy wheel variant retails for Rs 52,060, while the I3S variant is priced at Rs 53,500 (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi). The Splendor Plus competes with the Bajaj CT100, Honda CD 100, and TVS Star City Plus.
