Still think you can do better with Rs 2.45 lakh? Here’s what else you can get for around the same price

We were the first publication to report a massive price drop for the BS6 G 310 twins, and we weren’t off the mark. The BS6-compliant G 310 R has been launched at a smashing price of Rs 2.45 lakh. That’s a price drop of Rs 54,000 over its BS4 counterpart. This makes the baby beemer extremely competitive in the sub-400cc segment. But, if you still aren’t sold on the idea of getting the roadster, you could have a look at the following options around the same price point.

TVS Apache RR 310 BS6 - Rs 2,45,000

The baby beemer’s distant faired cousin could be one of the picks. The BS6 Apache RR 310 has been thoroughly worked on for 2020 with much better features and a motor that isn’t as vibey anymore. It features different ride modes, a full-colour TFT screen, grippy Michelin Road 5 rubber, and several minor but crucial tweaks that make the RR 310 a fantastic option in this price range. Oh, and it packs the same engine as the G 310 R, so performance isn’t an issue either.

KTM 390 Duke BS6 - Rs 2,57,906

If you put in an additional Rs 12,000, you could pick up the brash second-gen 390 Duke. It has proved to be one of the most capable bikes we’ve ridden in this segment with razor-sharp handling and a motor that’ll make your grin every time you open up the throttle. A power advantage of 9.5PS and 9Nm over the G 310 R should be enough to sway you in KTM’s favour. It even gets a better suspension setup, bigger brakes, and a smartphone-compatible full-colour TFT console with a bunch of features. The after sales service may also come in a lot cheaper which will help you save money in the long run.

KTM RC 390 BS6- Rs 2,53,184

Track enthusiasts can check out the RC 390 as a possible option. It packs the same equipment as the 390 Duke, minus the premium separate function forks. The riding posture is more committed which helps you tuck behind the windscreen and slice through the wind.  It is also one of the best-looking supersports in its segment despite being a six-year-old design. On the downside, the most recent update for the RC 390 brings with it MRF tyres, replacing the stickier Metzeler Sportec M5s

Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 BS6 - Rs 2,66,755

On the neo-retro side of the spectrum, you have the Interceptor 650 -- the best Royal Enfield you can currently get your hands on. Its butter-smooth parallel-twin engine is to die for and so is its power delivery which kicks in at revs as low as 3,000rpm. For reference, it puts out 47.6PS at 7250rpm and 52Nm at 5250rpm. While it isn’t as feature-rich as the rest of the bikes here, it does offer a decent amount of kit including a slipper-clutch, dual-channel ABS, and big brakes for anchorage. And you can’t deny the fact that it looks insanely gorgeous! On the downside, you will have to shell out an additional Rs 21,000.
