This bike delivers more than I expected. Its overall finish appears excellent so just needs the test of time and use.
The revelation is in the riding. Upon pulling out of the garage at purchase I instantly felt at home on the bike. I have never had to think about riding this machine. It rides totally neutral, it doesn't fall into corners nor does it resist, it just goes naturally where you want it to go.
The engine is the real surprise! In town, it is really easy an smooth, riding mainly 2 to 3k rpm. 3 to 4k gives a little more impetus. But at 4 to 5k the engine takes on a really lusty characteristic. You are propelled forwards in a very convincing manner. This motor has loads of usable power. The exhaust note is deep and solid but controlled and never raucous. At all speeds, the engine is super smooth and even the mirrors are devoid of any blurring.
The suspension is as you would expect, fine for normal use. I have just once been disappointed by the rear shocks. On a moorland pass at around National Speed Limit speeds. There is a sort of subsided section about 10 to 12 feet across the road. This was uncomfortable and I was lifted from the seat. The most suspension would struggle here but think the Interceptor struggled more than most?
So am I pleased? More than pleased, this bike delivers more than I had hoped for. What it delivers most is smiles in abundance. It is not designed to be a speed machine but will keep up with most in the real world of road riding. If your considering, stop considering and go out and buy. You will not be disappointed!
