… And the Nooma 400 is the perfect knock-off BMW S 1000 RR

The Chinese bike manufacturers have done it again, and this time around, it is more than just a knock-off. Chinese bikemaker Nooma has come up with two very interesting bikes, one of which is an absolute doppelganger of the BMW S 1000 RR; and the other, well, read on ahead for that one.

The Nooma 250 is something that would be the result of the coming together of the Kawasaki Ninja 300 and the Aprilia RS 660. The Chinese bike gets proper supersport design language reminiscent of the Ninja 300. At the front, it replicates the RS 660’s curved design with the twin headlight setup.

The Nooma 400 looks like a much smaller version of the BMW S 100 RR. The styling on the Chinese bike replicates the Bavarian to the T with not only the sharp body styling but also BMW’s signature M livery. However, at the rear, the Nooma loses its resemblance as it gets beefier body panels.

The 250 is powered by a 250cc, air-cooled, twin-cylinder mill making a paltry 16.9PS and 16Nm. Whereas the Nooma 400 gets a twin-cylinder 367cc engine, producing not-so-impressive 29.2PS and 28Nm. Both bikes are paired to a six-speed gearbox. For perspective, the Kawasaki Ninja 400 gets a 399cc, twi-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 45PS and 37Nm. And the KTM RC390 churns out  43.5PS and 37Nm from its 373.27cc single-cylinder engine.

In terms of underpinnings, the Nooma 250 features a telescopic fork and monoshock suspension setup. And the 400 gets a more premium USD fork and monoshock setup. The braking on both bikes is handled by a dual disc setup at the front and a single disc at the rear.

While the pricing for the supersports hasn’t been disclosed, one thing is certain that they will be a lot more affordable than the bikes they take “inspiration” from. While both the bikes will not be heading to our shores at all, you can check out the BMW G 310 RR, TVS Apache RR310, Kawasaki Ninja 400 and KTM RC 390 available here in India.
