Kawasaki India has teased two bikes on social media and we suspect it's the supersport duo

Earlier this month, we broke the news that Kawasaki will be soon launching the Ninja 300 in the BS6 guise. Now, the brand has teased two motorcycles on its social media handles, likely to be the baby Ninja and the 2021 ZX-10R that made its global debut in November last year.

The Kawasaki Ninja 300 has been the bran'd’s best selling motorcycle in India. In the BS6 avatar, the updates are likely to be restricted primarily to the engine. The 296cc parallel-twin, liquid-cooled engine is expected to develop 39PS and 27Nm, much like the BS4 version. As for the styling updates, new colours and liveries aside, the Kawasaki Ninja 300 is likely to remain unchanged. That said, we would love to see features like LED headlights and a smartphone-enabled display like that on the Ninja 650 and Z650.

As for the Kawasaki ZX-10R, it received a massive cosmetic overhaul in this update. The new bodywork has integrated winglets claimed to generate 17 percent more downforce. In terms of mechanicals, the 2021 ZX-10R continues to be powered by the 998cc, in-line, four-cylinder engine developing 201PS and 115Nm (which hasn’t changed from the outgoing model). Kawasaki has altered the ratios for the first three gears to achieve better acceleration and also equipped the ZX-10R with a bigger rear sprocket.

When it comes to pricing, our sources claim that the Kawasaki Ninja 300 BS6 is likely to be priced around Rs 3.20 lakh (ex-showroom), a hike of about Rs 22,000 over the previous model. Unofficial bookings have already commenced for a token ranging from Rs 10,000 to Rs 50,000, depending on the dealer. The 2021 Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10R could carry a price tag of Rs 16-18 lakh (Rs 2 lakh more than the outgoing model) if it comes via the  CKD (Completely Knocked Down) route. The Ninja ZX-10R will take on the BMW S 1000 RR, Ducati Panigale V4, and the Honda CBR1000RR-R in India.
