Gogoro 2 Series Latest Updates
A leaked homologation document has revealed details about the upcoming Gogoro scooter's range and top speed.
The international Gogoro 2 Series e-scooter is powered by a liquid cooled, permanent magnet synchronous motor producing peak power of 7kW and a maximum torque of 196Nm at the rear wheel. Furthermore, the claimed range (at 30kmph cruising speed) from its swappable batteries is a 170km which is at par with other premium e-scooters like the Ola S1 Pro and Ather 450X. The 2 Series gets Gogoro’s latest third-gen swappable battery pack, which the company claims can be swapped in six seconds. If that’s true, that’s faster than filling fuel!
This e-scooter features a telescopic front fork and twin preload adjustable rear shocks. Braking duties are handled by single disc brakes at both ends with the safety net of a combination braking system and the 2 Series gets the standard 12-inch alloy rims. On the features front, the Gogoro 2 Series gets a neat looking digital display but does not get Bluetooth connectivity. It is equipped with keyless entry, and can be unlocked using a smart key. It features all LED lighting, along with a decent 25-litre underseat storage. But Gogoro is also throwing in a tail rack and mobile phone holder to maximise storage and walk around the lack of navigation and connectivity.
In India Gogoro has partnered with Zypp Electric, a Gurgaon-based last-mile logistics company which deploys electric vehicles to reduce carbon emissions. To begin with, both companies will run a pilot programme using the 2 Series e-scoot across Gurugram, Delhi, Noida, Ghaziabad, Faridabad and Bengaluru. Gogoro officials say that the B2B e-scooter will be almost as powerful as a conventional 110cc scooter, and operations should commence from Delhi starting December 2022.
