New King of the segment
Have owned the new Apache 160 4v carb with rear disc for the past 1 month.
The beast has impressed me from the very start.
Good throttling response , right from the moment you let the clutch go. It stands true to its name, Ready to Race.
Positives :
Good throttling response
Good low end and middle range torque
Stable while cornering
Awesome looks ( even though too similar to 200 )
Buttersmooth gear shifts ( Had my share of false neutrals. But overall impressive )
No vibrations so far ( have not revved it too much since its a new bike )
Enough room for the pillion
Love the brakes in this bike
Negatives :
Disclaimer : Still a new bike . Not yet done with first service. So I am expecting many of these issues to be solved after servicing.
Standstill turning radius is a pain in the arse.
Bike is on the heavier side
Not suitable for short riders ( Have seen my friends suffer especially with the added weight )
Too many false neutrals for my liking
Currently I am getting a mileage of 30 - 35 only. ( Expecting that to change after service )

- Review after a year.Excellent low cost maintenance and powerfull engine bike. Bought 160 4v Mate black special edition a year ago. So many long rides on. Vijayawada to Kodaikanal non stop ride 1100km almost and Kodaikanal to Vijayawada non stop almost 1100km. 24 hours with short breaks. And also drove from Andhrapradesh Vijayawada to Mumbai 1050km non stop 21 hours and Mumbai to Vijayawada same hours with short breaks. Peak performance, perfect balance, best milage with. Not even change tyres till date almost 15000km run. Not even one puncher for tyres till now powerfull tyres. I will definitely recommend it for long rides. One negative is its mono channel ABS at front. When I purchased this TVS did not even release Duel ABS in 1604v very disappointed after it's released in Duel channel ABS. It released 3 to 4 months after my purchase. Very very disappointed. TVS need stop this kind of things. If they release Duel channel ABS in 160 4v at the beginning the sale of this bike will be sky rocketing.Read MoreWas this review helpful?
