Besides completely new styling, the 2017 KTM 200 Duke gets a revised subframe, updated braking system, new exhaust muffler and much more.

After the 2017 model of the bigger KTM 390 Duke, now the updated KTM 200 Duke has been spotted testing in India. The bike looks almost identical to its elder sibling, however, loses some top-end features that the next-gen 390 Duke will get. Like the 390 version, the 2017 KTM 200 Duke also looks inspired by the bigger 1290 SuperDuke R, especially when you see the sharp, low-set headlamp and the tank shrouds. If we talk about its launch in India, reports claim that it is expected to enter the market by early next year.

Along with a completely new styling, the 2017 KTM 200 Duke gets a new subframe which can be seen entering the rear cowls. We can also expect some geometrical alterations in the main frame as well to enhance stability and handling capabilities. The engine seems the same liquid-cooled single. However, it now gets a new side-slung exhaust muffler to match up with the Euro-4 emission and noise standards. The power and torque figures of the motor are expected to remain unchanged but the bike looks lighter as compared to the existing model.

Coming to the front, the headlight cluster of the 2017 KTM 200 Duke looks like the same all LED unit of the next-gen 390 Duke. The instrument panel looks untouched, but the unit looks a bit new because of the redesigned housing. The key hole has also been moved to the front of the fuel tank, unlike being near the dashboard on the existing version. The braking lever is also new along with the master cylinder which might improve the braking performance of the bike.

Along with this, the newly designed seat looks a bit more comfortable than the existing model and you won't see any rear grab rail on the bike. You don't need to worry for that as the new 200 Duke will come with integrated grab slots in the rear panel like the RC twins. Pealing camouflage stickers from various parts of the bike hints that the company might give an interesting white-orange paint scheme to the new model.

The suspension setup and disc brakes of the bike look identical to that on the current model. The 2017 version will also miss ABS and slipper clutch features which come standard with the existing 390 Duke. Moreover, the 2017 390 Duke will also get riding modes and some other new features, which will also be absent on the 200cc model.
