TVS XL100 Highlights
The price of the TVS XL 100 BS6 has been hiked for the first time since its launch. The increments range between Rs 1,000 and Rs 1,500. Full details are available here. The XL 100 is also the only moped on sale from a major two-wheeler brand in India. It also holds the distinction of being the most affordable fuel-injected two-wheeler on sale. Its utilitarian nature makes it a hugely popular delivery service vehicle in urban areas, while its rugged nature and huge load-carrying capacity are well appreciated by buyers in the rural market, especially in the southern part of the country.
TVS XL 100 Price:
The price of the TVS XL 100 starts from Rs 44,294 for the Heavy Duty variant. The Special Edition carries a price tag of Rs 45,304 and the XL 100 Comfort variant, which is the most expensive one, retails for Rs 46,114 (all prices, ex-showroom Delhi). The BS6 TVS XL 100 is around Rs 3,000 more expensive than the BS4 variant. The TVS XL100 also gets an optional handicap kit for Rs 11,237. TVS XL 100 Features:
Being a utilitarian vehicle, the XL 100 doesn’t come equipped with loads of features to keep the price competitive. The TVS XL 100 BS6 variant gets new features such as a silent start system, engine kill switch, and even a USB charger to charge mobile phones. The instrument console is a single-pod analogue unit with a speedometer and odometer. There’s not even a fuel gauge and instead, you get a reserve indicator.
TVS XL 100 Engine:
The XL 100 is powered by an air-cooled and fuel-injected 99.7 single-cylinder engine that produces a measly 4.4PS and 6.5Nm of torque. Don’t let the humble figures fool you as the moped does punch above its weight when it comes to load-carrying capacity. TVS also claims that the new XL 100 offers 15 per cent more mileage than the older bike.
TVS Apache RTR 160 4V Suspension & Brakes:
Suspension setup on the TVS XL 100 comprises a conventional telescopic fork up front and dual rear shock absorbers. Stopping power is offered by drum brake units at both ends. Its fuel tank capacity is 4 litres and it rides on 16-inch wheels.
TVS XL 100 Rivals:
The BS6 TVS XL 100 is also among the cheapest two-wheelers on sale in India, with the base variant retailing at Rs 44,294 (ex-showroom). It doesn’t have a direct rival and the only bike that undercuts it with respect to price is the Bajaj CT 100, at Rs 41,923 (ex-showroom).
