TVS XL Electric Trademarks Filed, Will Rival The Kinetic E-Luna
TVS has to price it competitively, as the FAME 2 subsidies may end soon
TVS has been working on an electric version of the TVS XL100 moped. The manufacturer has recently submitted trademark applications for two new names including ‘TVS XL EV’ and ‘TVS E-XL’.
The status for both names has been marked as ‘Accepted and Advertised’ by the Trademark Authority, which means the two names have been granted to TVS and are now listed in the trademark journal.
Although TVS has applied for two names, the ‘TVS XL EV’ seems somewhat generic, so we reckon the manufacturer could call its electric workhorse the ‘TVS E-XL’. Patent designs for the XL Electric were also leaked earlier, revealing its design, underpinnings and other details.
The TVS XL Electric is expected to launch sometime in 2025. And though it's too early to talk about the pricing, we're sure TVS will price it competitively to undercut the Kinetic Green E-Luna – its chief rival – especially with the possibility of FAME 2 subsidies going away at the end of March 2024.
