The new BS6-compliant TVS Scooty Pep+ now gets a fuel-injected motor but continues to use the same design, features and underpinnings.
The production of the TVS Scooty Pep+ along with the rest of the two-wheelers from TVS Motor Company has resumed from May 6, 2020 at all its three factories in India. This comes after the announcement of lockdown relaxation. That said, information about the delivery timelines remain to be seen. TVS has also hiked prices of all Scooty Pep+ variants by Rs 800.
TVS Scooty Pep+ BS6 Price:
TVS has hiked the Scooty Pep+ prices across three variants -- TVS Scooty Pep+Series BS6 (Rs 52,554), Babelicious Series BS6 (Rs 53,754), and Matte Edition Series BS6 (Rs 53,754, all prices ex-showroom Delhi). The prices have increased by Rs 800. It is the first price hike since the BS6 transition where the price hike was Rs 6,700 for the standard variant and Rs 6,400 for the Babelicious and Matte variants.
TVS Scooty Pep+ BS6 Features:
The features on the BS6-compliant TVS Scooty remains unchanged from its BS4 predecessors. It continues to get an apron mounted LED DRL, a halogen headlamp, bulb-type tail lamp, analogue instrument console and an EZ-centre stand. Optional features include a USB charging port and a side stand alarm. The Matte Edition variant of Scooty gets minor cosmetic updates like a 3D logo and a special seat pattern. The Scooty Pep+ BS6now available in 7 colours -- Nero Blue, Frosted Black, Princess Pink, Revving Red, Glittering Gold, Aqua Matte and Coral Matte.
TVS Scooty Pep+ BS6 Engine:
As part of its BS6 update, the TVS Scooty gets a greener fuel-injected motor. The 87.8cc motor now delivers 5.43PS at 6500rpm and 6.5Nm at 3500rpm. That’s a hike of 0.43PS and 0.7Nm over the BS4 Scooty. It uses a CVT transmission. Given that the Scooty weighs just 93kg, expect peppy performance.
TVS Scooty Pep+ BS6 Suspension & Brakes:
The TVS Scooty gets an underbone frame with telescopic forks and monoshock suspension. This lightweight scooter gets 10-inch alloy wheels and 110mm drum brakes at either end with CBS. Ground clearance is 135mm while the seat height is an accessible 760mm. The TVS Scooty Pep+ BS6 has a fuel tank capacity of 4.2 litres.
TVS Scooty Pep+ BS6 Rivals:
The TVS Scooty has no direct rivals though it competes with other 110cc scooters like the Hero Pleasure Plus and Honda Dio. Price-wise, it competes with the Hero Electric Dash, Ampere Reo, Evolet Polo, TVS XL100, Bajaj CT 100 and Hero HF Deluxe.

Scooty Pep Plus Expert Review
The Scooty Pep Plus's compact dimension makes it an ideal for novice riders and learners alike and a good alternative to the large scooters out there. It comes in six vibrant color options. The Pep Plus is a stylish scooter with a two-tone paint job, body colored mirrors and rear grab rail and alloy wheels. It gets a mobile charging socket and a glove box at the front. The suspension is comfortable thanks to telescopic forks at the front and a side mounted shock absorber at the back.
The Pep Plus is powered by an 87.8cc air-cooled single that makes a respectable 5PS at 6500rpm and 5.8Nm of torque at 4000rpm mated to a CVT gearbox. Fuel efficiency is a best-in-class 65kmpl.
Design and Features
TVS Scooty models are designed to attract the female riders mainly. It is slim, sleek and lightweight design that helps the female riders to master them with ease. The features like eazy centre stand and easy kick start option have been given to the range that ease parking for female riders and is easily accessible in the city traffic conditions.
TVS Scooty Pep Plus designed like a cute little bird that is highly appreciated by the girls. It is among the most lightweight machines that weigh about 95kg only. The headlight is fixed at the handlebars along with the rear view mirrors. Its instrumental cluster comprises of an analog meter displaying speedometer, odometer and fuel gauge. There is a good under seat storage for the rider’s convenience. The tail lamp is simple, sober and compliments the pleasant design of the scooter.
TVS Scooty Streak’s design is pretty muscular compared to its predecessor and the overall looks are decent. The front portion is faired well which matches perfectly with the overall flow of the body profile. The headlamp section is now more wider which ensures sharper looks and better visibility on roads at night. The tail lamp section is impressive with only one of its kind multiple red LED's stacked in a horizontal fashion. The primary tail light housed below, adds to the visual feel. The turn indicators also find a space with them to blend perfectly. The consecutive LED's now add more appeal to the looks when viewed from rear. The rear panel is now stronger and improved as compared to its sibling scooterette. The under seat storage is also enhanced. This gives an extra space to our shopaholics for those extra goodies. The overall body dimensions of the streak are bigger in numbers in comparison to the baby scooty. This gives the streak a handsome stance in public.
TVS Scooty Zest has the most appealing appearance among its siblings. Designed to the match the current trend, the scooter has swoopy designs. The front apron looks magnetic with twilight lamps. The smart headlamp and Leaf shaped body colored rear view mirrors go well with the muscular design. It also sports the first back-lit speedometer with eco indicator. LED tail light with stylish side indicators illuminates the rear profile of the scooter. The scooter holds an under seat storage space of 19 liter. There are under seat helmet hook and bag hook, front bag hook and glove box for the rider to carry its articles along with ease.
Engine and Performance
Both TVS Scooty Pep Plus and Streak are equipped with 87.8cc, single cylinder, 4-stroke, forced air-cooled engine that has automatic CVT drive with torque sensor. The engine can generate a maximum power of 4.9bhp at 6,500rpm and peak torque of 5.8Nm at 4,000rpm. Besides it develops the supreme power, the motor is claimed to deliver a best-in-class mileage of 65kmpl. The Pep Plus comes with a fuel tank capacity of 5 liters while that of the Streak is 4.7 liter only. Whereas, TVS Scooty Zest houses with a 109.7cc, single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled, CVTi engine. The motor produces the peak power of 7.9bhp at 7,500rpm and a peak torque of 8.7Nm at 5,500rpm. The company claims that it can generate a good mileage of 62kmpl along with class leading power to weight ratio and quickest pick-up of 0-60 kmph in 11.1 seconds.
Braking and Handling
The range of TVS Scooty is on progress with 90/90-10-inch tubeless tyres provided at both the ends. The braking is done by 110mm drum brakes at both wheels of Pep Plus and Streak. However, the rear wheel of the Zest receives 130mm of drum brake. The brakes work well but it can be improved by employing of disc brakes. The suspension duties are very well completed with the help of telescopic front forks and rear double rated hydraulic mono shock.
Safety and Features
TVS Scooty range is designed to provide extreme safety and comfort. The lightweight machine’s design is mainly emphasized on female riders so the features are set accordingly. Its 12V headlight that lighten up the road well in the dark and offers proper visibility at nights. The 90 x 90 10" tubeless tyres provide good gripping on every type of road surfaces. It is easy to stand and quick to start that makes it easily accessible. The scooty is very lightweight which makes it easily accessible while riding in the city navigation system. The suspension and well cushioned seat ensures comfort on bumpy road surfaces. It also has less ground clearance that increase its stability.
