TVS Maxi Scooter 160 Expert Overview

    BikeDekho Experts

    Overview

After tasting success with the TVS Ntorq 125 and the Ntorq 150, the brand reportedly plans to add another premium scooter in the line-up. It’ll reportedly be a new 160cc maxi scooter, expected to launch later in 2027, most probably towards the end of the year at MotoSoul. It could be priced at around Rs 1.40 lakh (ex-showroom).

    Design

Expect it to have a typical European maxi-scooter design with large proportions unlike the sleek Ntorq 150. It is expected to have typical design elements associated with maxi-scooters, including a large windscreen, bulbous apron, central spine instead of a flat floorboard, and a roomy seat.

    Features and Underpinnings

    Features

As TVS is known for giving a solid feature list to all its bikes and scooters, you can expect the same here as well. The 160cc scooter should have a colour TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity and possibly full-fledged navigation. For safety it could come equipped with single-channel ABS and perhaps traction control too.

    Underpinnings

It’s reported that it’ll be built on a new platform, and expect it to have a disc brake at both ends, a telescopic fork up front and possibly twin shock absorbers at the rear, along with (hopefully) 14-inch alloy wheels.

It’s reported that the scooter will likely use a new 160cc liquid-cooled engine. Its power output could be similar to its rivals (expected to be around 15PS).

    Rivals To Consider

The upcoming TVS 160cc maxi-scooter will go up against the Hero Xoom 160 and the Yamaha Aerox 155. As for soon-to-be-launched rivals, it will go against Honda ADV 160 as well as the Yamaha NMax 155 - both of which are reportedly planned to launch in India soon.
