TVS Motors to Explore its Production Capacity in West Bengal

Renowned two wheeler manufacturing company TVS has revealed its future plan of action for strengthening its position in West Bengal. According Mr. Venu Srinivasan, Chairman and Managing Director, TVS Motors said, company’s present unit in Uluberia at Howrah has production capacity of 20,000 units which will be explored in coming years. Mr. Srinivasan also added that existing unit of Uluberia will be used to meet the demand of eastern states by increasing its production capacity. 

According to Mr. Srinivasan company had not established its production unit in West Bengal with objective of small production unit and company expects that as the market develops company will require manufacturing plants in other parts of the country. TVS Wego priced at Rs 51,500 is giving a competition to Honda Aviator. At present, TVS Motors has three production units throughout India of which one production unit is catering the needs of northern states and remaining two are taking of TVS Bikes manufactured for Southern parts of the country. Detailing about company’s plan of action Mr. Srinivasan said that during next five years company intends to establish its production units in eastern and western parts of the country.

On the other side Mr. Prasun Mukherjee, promoter of TVS Bikes in West Bengal said that production unit of Uluberia will start production once the permission is obtained  from state government. According to Mr. Mukherjee TVS Motors was interested to get final authentication from State government to start its production capacity after receiving clearance from Calcutta High Court. Mr. Mukherjee also added that government has already cleared its concept now the final approval from High Court is awaited to start its production operation. Earlier there were reports that TVS Motors has signed a treaty with Mahabharat Motors for manufacturing TVS bikes on its production unit spreaded on 44 acre land whereas remaining 56 acre of land will be used for setting up an auto ancillary unit for which company is conducting meeting with the interested parties.
