Compared to the one sold in Indonesian markets, it gets a few mechanical changes to cater to the Indian audience

After teases and spy shots, Kawasaki has finally launched the W175 roadster in India with a premium price tag of Rs 1,47,000 for the Ebony variant and Rs 1,49,000 for the Special Edition (ex-showroom India). Here is all that Team Green’s smallest offering in India gets.

In terms of appearance, the Kawasaki W175 looks quite old-school with a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, circular headlight, rearview mirrors, and a vintage-style, single-piece seat. The design in fact remains the same as the Indonesian-spec model sans the Special Edition Red colour scheme. It is also available in the Ebony colourway.

Powering the India-spec roadster is a fuel-injected 177cc, single-cylinder, air-cooled engine producing 13PS and 13.3Nm (same as the abroad model), mated to a five-speed gearbox. The Indonesian-spec bike gets a carbureted mill instead of the FI one.

Underpinnings on the W175 are pretty straightforward with a telescopic fork and dual shock absorber suspension setup. For braking, it gets a 270mm disc up front with single channel ABS (only for the Indian market), whereas the rear gets a drum brake.

Tipping the scales at 135kg kerb, the India-spec model is 9kg heavier than the Indonesian-spec one. It gets a 10mm higher seat height of 790mm and 12-litre fuel tank, which is two litres less than the Indonesian model.

While it is priced on the more expensive side, the W175 is still the most affordable offering from Kawasaki in the Indian market. It rivals the Yamaha FZ-X and is a more expensive yet smaller alternative to the Royal Enfield Bullet 350.
