Honda Activa 6G

The Activa 6G now adopts a similar design to the larger Activa 125 and the updated appearance is a refreshing change, yet it stays familiar to the previous generation Activas. It continues to feature metal bodywork for enhanced durability, which also makes minor repairs to the bodywork an easy task. The level of fit and finish is also excellent.

At the rear, the scooter features a fresh design with a bigger tail section and a new external fuel cap, like the Activa 125.

The Activa 6G is powered by a 109.51cc single-cylinder engine that delivers 7.79PS and 8.84Nm. Honda engines are known for their refinement and the Activa 6G delivers a very refined engine experience too.

When cruising at speeds over 70kmph, the engine doesn’t feel strained. It's only when you surpass 80kmph that a slight vibration can be felt on the floorboard. However, it's worth noting that such high speeds are not common for regular city usage for an everyday scooter like the Activa.

The Honda Activa 6G's refined performance is matched by its impressive fuel efficiency. The economical engine provides a real-world tested fuel efficiency of 59.9kmpl in city conditions and 55.93kmpl at highway speeds, so the fuel economy remains consistently high.

The Honda Activa 6G shares its chassis with its larger sibling, the Honda Activa 125. As a result, the 110cc scooter now features a telescopic fork and a 12-inch front wheel for the first time in two decades. This has enhanced the scooter’s ability to effectively absorb smaller bumps and undulations, with only the sharper bumps requiring your attention.

These updates have also contributed to enhanced stability and handling along with an increased ground clearance. You feel more confident while cornering, and the scooter effortlessly maintains its line even when leaned at relatively steep angles.

The Activa being a family scooter focuses on providing comfort to the rider and passenger; and it does its job pretty well thanks to a bigger 12-inch front wheel and telescopic forks.

The Activa demands a relaxed riding posture. The handlebar is easily accessible, allowing for a comfortable upright sitting position. The wide seat with ample padding enhances comfort. The gentle step up to the pillion seat makes getting on and off the scooter quite easy.

Honda has provided a variety of convenience-focused features into the Activa 6G.Notably, it now features an ACG motor for one-touch silent starts, a multifunction key slot providing access to open the seat, and an external fuel filler cap. 

While these additions are appreciated, there are still a few elements that are lacking. We are living in a digital era and most scooters nowadays get digital instrument consoles and Bluetooth connectivity, both of which the latest-gen Activa lacks. The scooter comes with an analogue display which is rather surprising as even its predecessor, the Activa 5G had a digital inset along with its analogue speedometer.

The Activa 6G only gets steel wheels as standard and 130mm drum brakes at both front and rear with CBS (Combi-braking system) as standard. Alloy wheels are offered on the H-Smart variant.

The updates on the Honda Activa 6G have helped keep the scooter somewhat competitive in today’s day and age. These updates, inspired by the Honda Activa 125, have provided the much-needed enhancement for the 110cc scooter.That said, there is still scope for improvement in terms of modern-day features. And that’s why the competitor brands are able to attract customers by introducing additional features to their scooter offerings.

So, should you buy the Honda Activa 6G? Absolutely. If you are in search of a durable, reliable and versatile scooter that delivers comfort, practicality, and satisfactory performance, the Activa 6G fulfils all these criteria.
