Radeon Expert Review
The TVS Radeon is a 110cc commuter offering from TVS and takes on the Hero Splendor Plus. Here’s what it’s like in the real world:
Design
The TVS Radeon comes with a simple commuter design, which is quite practical. The bike gets a halogen headlight with a chrome bezel and halogen indicators. The fuel tank comes with tank grips, the seat is a long, single-piece unit and the tail section’s design is quite simple. It also comes with a pillion grab integrated into a small luggage rack. The taillight and rear indicators are halogen units as well.
Engine, Mileage & Performance
Powering the TVS Radeon is a 110cc air-cooled single-cylinder engine with a 4-speed gearbox and produces 8.08PS at 7350rpm and 8.7Nm at 4500rpm. In the BS6 update, it did lose out on some power but the acceleration from 0 to 60 kmph has actually improved slightly. This can be credited to the new TVS ‘EcoThrust Fuel Injection’ system, which has increased the engine’s efficiency as a whole.

40-80kmph in 4th gear |

In the mid-range, there’s ample torque from the engine which makes the Radeon feel lively through slow-moving traffic. Itit also has enough performance on tap when you need quick acceleration to pass other vehicles in such scenarios.
The Radeon has always been a smooth performer. At low speeds the engine produces very less vibrations and only starts to feel strained when you push it to reach speeds of 75-80 kmph. However, it is worth noting that riding at those speeds for extended periods of time is unlikely, as the bike is primarily a commuter that’ll be confined to city conditions.
The Radeon returned an impressive 73.68kmpl in our city fuel run tests. The highway mileage is also decent and the bike was able to return 68.6kmpl in our tests.

Handling & Ride Quality
Being lightweight, the TVS Radeon has always had good handling characteristics. The comfortable suspension setup has always impressed us too.
The only downside is its braking. There isn’t much difference between the drum and disc brakes when it comes to stopping distance and we expected the disc version to perform better.
Comfort
The bike is still quite easy to use for riders of all heights and its upright stance is very comfortable. The seat is soft and comfy for short rides in the city but gets uncomfortable during long journeys. A thicker seat padding could solve this issue.
Features
Coming to features, the TVS Radeon is pretty basic and comes equipped with LED DRLS, a USB port and a negatively lit LCD instrument cluster on the mid and top-spec variants.
Should you buy TVS Radeon
The TVS Radeon is a likeable option in the 110cc commuter motorcycle category. It has an elegant, retro design with shiny chrome parts, and the top models come with many good features. Additionally, the strong build quality makes it quite an attractive option.
