Comparison

CD 110 Dream Expert Review

Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India seems to be aggressive in terms of their market strategies as Honda CD 110 Dream is their third mass production motorcycle in commuter segment. The motorcycle rivals the segment leaders like Hero MotoCorp Splendor and TVS Star City Plus. With a mighty engine that also powers Dream Yuga and Dream Neo, this machine is designed to cater the needs of general public.

Honda CD110 Dream comes equipped with a 109.19cc, four-stroke, air-cooled engine that comes mated to a 4-speed gearbox. The mill generates a power output of 8.25 bhp at 7,500 rpm with a torque of 8.63 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The engine also features HET (Honda Eco Technology) which enhances the fuel economy of the bike, this technology is also present in the latest 125cc offering by the company, CB Shine SP. The bike can reach up to a top speed of 86 kmpl and returns a mileage of 74 kmpl.

The motorcycle is built on a diamond frame keeping its engine as a stressed member. It progresses on 80/100-18 tubeless tyres wrapped on six-spoke alloy wheels fitted at both the front and the rear end. The suspension system involves telescopic forks at the front and spring loaded hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. Both the front and rear wheel of the bike get 130mm drum brakes.

The bike features a long seat for commuting purpose and has a wheelbase and ground clearance of 1,258mm and 179mm respectively. Honda CD 110 Dream has a fuel tank capacity of 8 liters to offer a decent range without refuelling. A maintenance free viscous air filter maintains its existence here like other Hondas, Dream Yuga and Dream Neo. In appearance, the bike resembles Hero MotoCorp CD Deluxe. As one of the cheapest bikes available in the country, Honda CD 110 Dream is a perfect companion for city commuters.

When it comes to the body design, one cannot expect very sporty and stylish looks from an 110cc commuter. The front profile of Honda CD 110 Dream has an angular headlamp section with an impressive black colored visor. A neatly designed fuel tank along with a single piece handlebar gives a good riding posture to the rider. The instrument console comes with a traditional design having dual dials for analog speedometer and fuel gauge along with some tell tale lights.  The company has fitted it with a long and well-cushioned seat offering enough comfort for both rider and pillion. Coming to the rear, the bike gets a body coloured grab rail and a curvy tail lamp with a traditional rear fender that gives the bike its utility commuter image. Honda has tried giving it some premiumness to the bike by painting some elements like half engine compartment, muffler and front forks in black. The side panels receive matte black colour with a CD 110 Dream sticker glued to it.

The motorcycle has the dimensions of 2,009mm x 737mm x 1,074mm (L x W x H) with a wheelbase and minimum ground clearance of 1,258mm and 179mm respectively.

Honda CD 110 Dream gets its power from a 109.19cc, air-cooled, four-stroke engine that comes mated to a 4-speed transmission system. The motor generates a maximum power of 8.25 bhp at 7,500rpm with a peak torque of 8.63 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The motorcycle uses a viscous paper filter for keeping the maintenance cost low. With a compression ratio of 9.9:1, the durable 110cc engine promises superior all-round performance with a decent fuel economy. With this arrangement, the bike manages to get to a top speed of 86 kmph. The engine also has HET (Honda Eco Technology) that ensures a better performance. The 8 litre of fuel tank assists 74 kmpl of mileage, as claimed by the company.

The bike is built on a diamond frame that gives it a strong skeletal structure. It rides on 80/100-18 tubeless tyres that are fitted at both the front and rear end, wrapped on six spoke alloys. For stopping power, the company has fitted the bike with 130mm drum brakes at both ends. The suspension system of the bike consists of telescopic forks at the front and spring loaded hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear.

Honda CD 110 Dream has got 80/100-18 tubeless tyres that do not deflate suddenly in case of a puncture. It is also equipped with a powerful 12V-35/35W headlight that offers good visibility at night.
