Honda CB500F Highlights
The 2021 Euro 5-compliant Honda CB500F has been unveiled in Europe. Apart from the cleaner motor, it gets new colour schemes and graphics. You can read more about the motorcycle here. Honda is likely to launch the Honda CB500F naked bike by the first half of 2021. It is essentially a naked derivative of the Honda CBR500R. The bike gets an all-LED lighting system, fully digital instrument cluster, and streetfighter styling with aggressive design lines. It is powered by the same 471cc parallel-twin motor as its faired cousin. It makes the same amount of power and torque too: 47.5PS at 8600rpm and 43Nm at 6500rpm. The engine is mated to a 6-speed transmission with assist and slipper clutch.
Suspension components include a 41mm front fork and a rear Pro-Link monoshock with preload adjustability on both ends. A front 320mm disc and a 240mm rear disc with dual-channel ABS handle braking duties. The Honda CB500F could command a price tag of around Rs 4.8 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be sold as a CKD product. Expect the price to be even more competitive once Honda fully localises it. However, that depends on the market response and it’s still some time away. When launched, it will compete against the CFMoto 650NK, Benelli Leoncino 500 and the more premium Kawasaki Z650.
