Ducati DesertX

Ducati India has launched the DesertX Rally variant, which comes with better off-road capability, but at a huge premium of Rs 5,37,600 over the standard variant. The DesertX is Ducati’s most hardcore off-road bike in India. The ADV looks gorgeous, is loaded with features, and starts at Rs 18,33,200 (ex-showroom).

Ducati DesertX Price: 

Available in two variants: base and Rally, the DesertX base variant is priced at Rs 18,33,200, while the Rally variant costs Rs 23,70,800 (both ex-showroom).

Ducati DesertX Engine:

The DesertX is powered by a 937cc Testastretta L-twin engine which is also seen in the Multistrada V2, Hypermotard 950, Supersport 950 and Monster. The engine makes a peak power of 111PS at 9250rpm and 92Nm at 6500rpm, and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox

Ducati DesertX Suspension, Brakes & Other Details:

The base variant of the DesertX features a steel trellis chassis with a fully adjustable 46mm Kayaba fork and monoshock. In comparison, the Rally variant boasts a 48mm KYB fork with 250mm suspension travel and a rear monoshock with 240mm travel, both fully adjustable and offering 20mm more travel at both ends than the standard version. Braking is managed by twin 320mm front discs and a 265mm rear disc, with dual channel ABS.  

Both variants of the Ducati DesertX come with 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels, whereas the Rally variant has Takasago Excel wire-spoked wheels. They come standard with 90-section front and 150-section rear Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres, with Pirelli Scorpion Trail II tyres available as an option.

The base variant weighs 210kg with a ground clearance of 250mm, while the Rally is 1kg heavier at 211kg and has a ground clearance of 280mm (30mm more).

Ducati DesertX Features:

The DesertX gets a 5-inch TFT console mounted vertically with the Ducati Multimedia System to allow phone call/message alerts and turn-by-turn navigation. It also comes loaded with a suite of electronic aids, including multi-level ABS, traction control, wheelie control, engine braking control, and a bi-directional quickshifter. The ADV has six riding modes: Sport, Touring, Urban, Wet, Enduro, and Rally.

Ducati DesertX Rivals:

The DesertX Base competes with the Triumph Tiger 900 Rally Pro, BMW F 850 GS and Honda Africa Twin. The DesertX Rally rivals the BMW R 1250 GS Pro BS6 and Harley Davidson Pan America 1250 Special.
