Ducati DesertX Latest Update
Two years after showcasing the concept, Ducati has unveiled the new DesertX. It is the most hardcore off-road motorcycle from Ducati, drawing inspiration from the Paris-Dakar rally race bikes from the 1980s.
The Ducati DesertX looks the part with a high-mounted fairing and windscreen with twin circular LED headlights and DRLs. It also has an imposing stance, courtesy of the large wheels, butch USD fork, and the humungous fuel tank. The overall design is purposeful, rugged, and practical.
Being a proper off-road bike, the DesertX gets a 21/18-inch wheel setup with Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR tyres (the rims are tubeless). It is suspended on a Kayaba USD fork with 230mm of travel and a monoshock with 220mm of travel (both units fully adjustable). The brakes are sourced from Brembo.
Ground clearance is also impressive at 250mm, and the standard seat height is 875mm (customers can also opt for an optional low seat).
Powering the mammoth is a 937cc Testastretta V-twin engine developing 110PS and 92Nm. The Ducati DesertX will go on sale in India by late 2022 at around Rs 15 lakh.
