December being the festive month has changed the fortunes of various automakers in the country. With some special offerings on several performance motorcycles with attractive designs and powerful engines, two-wheeler giants have received overwhelming response from the consumers.

The TVS Apache series has booked the top slot on the list with 0.11 percent hike in sales by selling out almost 20,599 units. The numbers are lesser than the previous month, but the consistency has not changed.

With the recent launch of TVS Apache RTR 200 4V, the company is expecting the sales chart to show a decent hike again in the coming months. Next in the queue is Bajaj, one of the largest Indian manufacturer. It has launched its cruiser Avenger in 220cc segment and the results were quite impressive. The company sold out 10,948 units of the model, which displays a 16 percent growth. However, the launch of the Avenger came as a blow for Pulsar 220F, as the bike faced a drop in sales by 38 percent with 3889 units being sold, which is the second major fall for this sports bike after November 2015.Other models of Bajaj, Pulsar 180 and 200 also witnessed a 30 percent decline in sales by selling 4384 together.

Other than these two giants, Japanese manufacturer Yamaha also performed well with its 2464 units of R15 rolling out to the consumers. The figures improved by 34 percent if compared to the sales of November.

Talking about Honda, the two models of the company CBR150R and CBR250R failed to impress the performance motorcycle fans, as these machines faced fall of 22 and 10 percent in volumes with only 535 and 143 units being sold respectively.  Recently, we had reported about the production of Karizma has been stopped by the Indian manufacturer Hero, the company is still rolling out the left stock and managed to sell 143 units in December.

With performing lesser than the expected, Hero and Honda are expected to offer some unique models at the upcoming Auto Expo 2016. Let’s hope to see some new designs and upgraded engines in the coming event.
