Engine:

For the Shine 100, Honda developed an all-new single-cylinder, air-cooled, 98.98cc engine. Interestingly, the Shine 100 is the only Honda bike by far to get this engine. The engine comes paired with a 4-speed transmission and has a maximum power output of 7.38PS @ 7,500rpm and a peak torque of 8.05Nm @ 5,000rpm. It features a 9-litre fuel tank and has been tested to achieve a real-world mileage of 67.5kmpl under mixed city and highway riding conditions.

Suspension And Brakes:

Considering its entry-level proposition, the Honda Shine 100 features rather humble mechanical hardware under its skin. The Shine 100 gets a telescopic fork, while the rear has dual coil springs without preload adjustability. The motorcycle rides on 17-inch alloy wheels with a 2.75-17 tyre at the front and 3.00-17 tyre at the rear, both tubed. For braking duties, the Shine 100 gets a 130mm drum at the front and a 110mm drum brake at the rear.

With a seat height of 786mm, the Honda Shine 100 offers accessible seating for most buyers. It has a ground clearance of 168mm and a fuel tank capacity of 9 litres. With a kerb weight of 99kg, the Shine 100 is also a light motorcycle. 

Key features:

The Honda Shine 100 is pretty basic in terms of features, though it has alloy wheels (but no tubeless tyres), an electric starter and a side-stand engine cut-off feature for safety. The instrument cluster is all-analogue with basic readouts including a speedometer, fuel gauge and tell-tale lights.
