Key Specs of Unicorn
Honda Unicorn Highlights
The launch of the Honda Unicorn took place a couple of weeks before the lockdown was enforced. Honda has had to suspend production in the meantime. But with factories looking to reopen, expect Honda to start production and deliveries of the Unicorn BS6 soon.
Honda Unicorn Price:
The BS6 Honda Unicorn price is Rs 93,593 (ex-showroom Delhi). The price of the new Unicorn is Rs 12,852 more than the outgoing Unicorn 150. For the price premium that you are now paying for the Unicorn BS6, Honda is kitting the Unicorn once again with the 162.7cc engine but with a fuel-injection system.
Honda Unicorn Features:
There are no fancy features to be found on the Honda Unicorn, with the commuter motorcycle getting a simple DC bulb headlight. Even the console used is an analogue unit. The centre roundel has the speedometer and the odometer and is flanked on the left with a tachometer and a fuel gauge with a few tell tale lights on the right.
Honda Unicorn Engine:
Honda has once again decided to equip the Unicorn with the 162.7cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine. One of the reasons that Honda has done that is perhaps the older Honda Unicorn 150 engine would not meet BS6 emission norms, as it is a really old mill. On the current Unicorn, the 162.7cc engine produces 12.9PS and 14Nm, same power as the old 150cc engine but torque is 1.2Nm more. No changes to the 5-speed transmission though.
Honda Unicorn Suspension & Brakes:
The mechanical setup of the new Honda Unicorn is borrowed from the Unicorn 150. It gets a simple telescopic fork and monoshock handling suspension duties. There is only a single variant of the Unicorn BS6 with a 240mm front disc and a 130mm rear drum brake setup. Single-channel ABS is standard.
Honda Unicorn Rivals:
The Honda Unicorn is one of the most popular 150cc commuter motorcycles in India. It has got a larger heart now but Honda has managed to keep the good bits of the Unicorn brand intact. The primary rivals of the Honda Unicorn BS6 remain the Bajaj Pulsar 150 and the TVS Apache RTR 160 2V. For the same price though, you could also get the Bajaj Avenger 160 Street and the Aprilia SR 125.

- Q. Hi bike dekho .which is suitable for family purpose unicorn r bullet 350 n not a money problem but i want toknow plzz tell me what i have to pickA.
Both bikes are of different segment bikes. If we talk about Honda Unicorn, it has always been the go-to bike if you were planning to buy a 150cc commuter. The BS6 update has given the bike a larger motor while retaining the dynamics of the older bike. It still remains a well-rounded motorcycle. On the other hand, motorcycling doesn’t get much simpler than the Royal Enfield Bullet 350. Its torquey motor produces the same thumping sound that Bulleteers have enjoyed for decades. It is also the most affordable Royal Enfield motorcycle and it shows how the brand has managed to keep this bare-basic roadster alive even in the BS6 era. So, selecting one will totally depend on your needs and wants. You may compare both the bikes according to their variants too. Do take a test ride in order to get better clarity. Both the bikes are of different segment, Avenger 160 is a cruiser bike and Unicorn 160 is a standard bike. If you are looking for a bike with the ultimate comfort and new refined engine then you can choose to go with Bajaj Avenger Street 160 as it holds a 160 cc engine that churns out 15 PS of power and 13.7 Nm of torque. And if you want a bike to serve your daily riding purpose which has similar power but very much fuel efficient then Honda Unicorn 160 would be a nice choice as Honda says that it delivers a mileage of around 62 km/l whereas Avenger Street 160 has a mileage of 45 km/l.
