The front section of Honda Dio gets an edgy headlamp unit that finds its placement at the apron rather than the usual front cowl. Honda launched the 2017 edition of the scooter with a BS-IV engine and some really attractive graphics that makes it stand out from the rest.
The all black theme of the scooter indeed offers it a bad boy image as against the traditional sober image of automatic scooters generally found in the Indian two-wheeler market. The new Honda Dio has overall body dimensions of 1781mm x 710mm x 1133mm (LxBxH) and has respective wheelbase and a minimum ground clearance of 1238mm and 158mm.
The scooter has been fitted with a 5.3 litre fuel tank and has a total kerb weight of 103 kgs. As far as the features go, the Honda Dio gets LED Daytime Running Lights (DRLs) at the front cowl along with a trendy instrument cluster. The Dio also receives a maintenance free battery that proves less hefty on the pocket.

The engine is now BS-IV compliant that now results in a slightly better fuel economy in comparison to the previous model.
The Honda Dio achieves a top speed of 83kmph and returns a claimed fuel economy of 60kmpl. The scooter also gets an easy electric starter for the convenience of the rider.
Handling & Ride Quality
The Honda Dio has been fitted with 130mm drum brakes at both ends. These further come linked to the company’s Combi Braking System (CBS) in order to ensure less chances of skidding.
The suspension system of the Honda Dio comprises of bottom link type unit up front along with spring assisted hydraulic shock absorbers at the rear. The Honda Dio rides on 90/100 sized front and rear tyres that come mounted over 10 inch steel wheels. The ride quality of the Honda Dio is quite satisfactory and the scooter feels easy and quick to maneuver in the traffic.
Features
The Honda Dio comes with a powerful headlamp upfront that offers good illumination at nights. The scooter now comes enabled with Automatic Headlamp ON (AHO) facility due to which the headlight of the vehicle stays always ON whether it is day or night.
