UM Renegade Duty Ace Highlights
16 February 2018: The UM Renegade Duty Ace is a stylish American cruiser carrying similar electrical and mechanics from its sibling, the Duty S. At heart, both the bikes draw power from the same engine. The Duty Ace is powered by the UM’s all-new air-cooled, single-cylinder 223cc carburetted engine that makes 17PS of maximum power at 8,000rpm and 17Nm of peak torque at 5,000rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed gearbox that transmits power to the rear wheel via chain drive type. It comes with a claimed fuel efficiency of 41Kmpl. Design-wise, it is different from its sibling. It gets a dual-tone colour scheme, circular-shaped headlamp with a black cowl, chunky front forks and tyre, sloping fuel tank with red and white strips, and a smaller rider seat. The pillion seat is covered with a color-coded cowl, which can be removed to accommodate the pillion. Other design bits include chrome-garnished exhaust, chopped rear mudguard, LED tail lamp, blacked-out engine, and suspension and alloy wheels. There is a digi-analogue instrument cluster that has digital display for fuel gauge, gear position indicator, odometer and trip meter and analogue for speed. The suspension assembly includes 41mm telescopic front forks and twin-hydraulic spring shock absorbers at the rear. Braking is taken care of by a 280mm single front disc, a 130mm rear drum brake and the ABS which is on offer as standard. The cruiser gets a 17-inch front wheel, which is wrapped in a 120/80-17 tyre and a 15-inch unit at the rear that is shod with a 130/90-15 section tyre. The Renegade Duty Ace is priced at Rs (On road, Delhi) and will go on sale in July this year.
