Rumours: Ducati 959 Panigale to shake Indian market

If the information flooded over the internet is to be believed, Ducati 959 Panigale could make its way to the Indian market in July 2016. This machine is the updated model of its younger version 899 Panigale and was unveiled at 2015 EICMA, Milan. However, we have not received any official confirmation from the company on the news making rounds on the internet.

What is Panigale 959?
959 Panigale is another popular sports machine from the lineup of Ducati and its Panigale series. The first bike from Panigale series came as a heavy 1000cc displacement machine with absolute power and performance. The Ducati 1199 Panigale, first from Panigale lineup was the most powerful bike of that time, as claimed by the company. Coming back to 959, the company bought this bike into the market as a updated model of 899 Panigale. Some changes in design can be seen in this upcoming bike along with its higher displacement capacity. The bike has 955cc L-twin cylinder engine that produces a maximum power of 154.85 bhp at 10,500 rpm and a peak torque of 107 Nm at 9,000 rpm. If compared to 899 model, the difference in the technical updates is not much, as there is a gap of only 57cc displacement, 8.87bhp and 8 Nm of torque.

Other features
The new Ducati 959 Panigale will have Showa suspension, aluminium chassis, Pirelli Diablo Rosso Corsa tyres and the Brembo brakes. The bike will also have traction control, racing ABS, a quick shifter along with various riding variants. The new slipper clutch on 959 Panigale would avoid the possibility of rear tyre getting locked as it’ll have quick downshifts.
