    Overview

Indian Motorcycles - The iconic American motorcycle manufacturer launched their exotic cruiser bike in the country few months back christened as Indian Chief Dark Horse. The range consists of four exclusive models and out of these, Indian Chief Dark Horse is one of the most affordable bike in this range. Beside this, the other three cruisers are christened as Indian Chief Classic, Chief Vintage and Chieftain.

Mechanically, the giants is propelled by the same Thunder-Stroke 111, 1,811cc, air-cooled, V-twin engine which used to drive its siblings, the Chief range. The powerful motor manages to push out a peak torque of 161.61Nm at 3,000rpm. The motorcycle gets its revs from a six-speed gearbox which belt drives the rear wheels. The ignition is the closed loop fuel injection system. This sinister machine moves on Dunlop American Elite 3 - front 130/90B16 73H and rear 180/65 B16 81H coupled with 119mm telescopic forks at the front and 94mm single shock with mechanical preload suspension at the rear respectively. The braking department is headed by 300mm four-piston calliper dual discs at the front and 300mm two-piston calliper at the rear, which is further blessed with an Anti-Lock Braking system (ABS). The giant sports a huge fuel tank of 20.8 liters.

The standard equipments of Indian Chief Dark Horse now come with many promising accessions. An electronic cruise control is employed to ensure safer riding experience, including a keyless ignition and a two-year unlimited-mileage factory warranty. Unlike the conventional Chief motorcycles, the Dark Horse loses on oil-cooler, analogue fuel gauge and triple pod headlights. The instrument cluster is mounted impressively on the fuel tank which is loaded with plenty of informative elements such as digital speedometer, odometer, electronic fuel gauge, low fuel LED indicator, dual trip meters, digital tachometer, ambient air temperature, fuel range, average fuel economy, battery voltage, gear position display, clock, vehicle trouble code read out, heated grip level (if heated grips installed) and a low engine oil pressure indicator.

Indian Chief Dark Horse is a motorcycle for those who are ever ready to play with the visuals of the motorbike. The icon comes with around 40 customization options, which enables the rider to mould this machine into his desired masterpiece. With end to end purely black theme, Indian Chief Dark Horse sports a split dual-exhaust system with cross-over. The mighty silencer assures the road to witness Dark Horse’s true exhaust note. With a mission to dig its roots in India, Indian motorcycles will be importing their black beast via CBU (Completely Built Unit) route.
