Overview
The Indian Springfield Dark Horse is the blacked out and stripped down version of the Indian Springfield. It missed out on the front windscreen, chrome detailing and pillion seat but retains the two large hard panniers. Fuel tank capacity is 20.8 litres while heat height is quite low at 660mm. It retains all important features like ABS, cruise control, keyless ignition, light bar, tire pressure monitoring, 9 LED telltale indicators, tank mounted electronic speedometer, odometer, digital tachometer and dual trip meters.
Power comes courtesy of Indian's refined and highly capable Thunder Stroke III 1811cc V-twin mill that makes 150Nm of torque at just 2,900rpm. It is mated to a six-speed gearbox while claimed fuel efficiency is 20kmpl.
The lightweight cast aluminium frame gets fat 46mm telescopic front forks and an air adjustable rear monoshock. The front has a large 19-inch ten spoke wheel shod with 130/60B19 Dunlop tyres while the 16-inch rear wheel gets 180/60R16 Dunlops. Despite its 375kg kerb weight, the Springfield Dark Honse handles quite well. Braking is via twin 300mm disc up front and a single 300mm rear disc brake at the rear.
The Indian Springfield Dark Horse is priced at Rs 28,57,100 (ex-showroom, Delhi). It competes with the Harley Davidson Road King (Rs 24,99,00 ex-Delhi) and Triumph Rocket III (Rs 21,91,700 ex-Delhi).

- It provide a very comfortableIndian Springfield Dark Horse has low 650mm seat height but large footboards and mid-rise handlebars to provide a very comfortable ride, though its enormous size and heavy weight make it difficult to manage at low speed. There is no windshield on this bike and the pillion accommodations are really minimal, though some accessories are available to accommodate a passenger more comfortably.Read More
