March 30, 2016: Launched in 2004, Honda CBR1000RR is one of the best sports bike available on the planet at present. The Honda CBR1000RR is also known as Fireblade and it has got some upgradation in terms of peak power, mid-range torque and revised riding position in 2014. The current variant of the bike features a special Repsol replica paint that is inspired from the race tracks. The bike is available in three colors namely: Vibrant Orange (Repsol Replica), Ross White (Tricolour) and Graphite Black. Honda Motorcycle and Scooter India launched its legendary sports bike back in 2004 and it gets some modification in terms of power, torque and riding position last year. Named as Honda CBR 1000RR AKA Fireblade, it is one of the best selling 1000cc bikes that is introduced with the aim to targeting high-end racing
enthusiasts and speed-loving youth of the nation. The bike proves it worth as it is a package of super-sport performance and supreme looks.
The Fireblade loaded with a powerful 999cc, Liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, 16-valve, DOHC, an inline-4 engine that comes linked to a 6-speed gearbox system and uses the Wet multiplate clutch with diaphragm spring for power transmission. The mill is tuned to develops a whopping power of 175.6 bhp at 10000 rpm along with an earth shattering torque of 112Nm at 8500 rpm. Forbye, it employs Programmed Dual Stage Fuel Injection System (PGM-DSFI). The machine features a huge fuel tank of 17.5 liters capacity.
The bike bolted on a Diamond; aluminum composite twin-spar frame. It runs on 120/70 ZR17M/C (58W) at front and 190/50ZR17M/C (73W) at rear - Bridgestone and Dunlop/Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP tubeless tyres that are further fitted over tough alloy wheels. It slows down with the help of 320 x 4.5mm dual hydraulic disc with 4-piston calipers at the front and 220 x 5mm hydraulic disc with a single-piston caliper at the rear end that comes paired with Combined ABS (Anti-Lock Braking System). The suspension system of the bike is comprises of 43 mm inverted HMAS cartridge –type telescopic fork, 120mm axle travel at the front and Unit Pro-Link with gas-charged HMAS damper featuring 10-step preload, 138.2mm stroke at the rear. For an easy start ability even in chilly weather conditions, the vehicle sports a Computer-controlled digital transistorized with the electronic advance ignition system.
The front fascia of the bike houses a twin triangular shaped headlamps and a clear visor that makes it one of the most good looking supersport bikes around the globe. Clear lens turn blinkers are assembled on the rear view mirrors that look amazing. Approaching towards the rear, the Fireblade is fitted with a sporty LED tail lamp along with a split step-up seat. Turning indicators are nicely integrated with the number plate holder section. Moreover, the instrument cluster comprises of digital speedometer, digital tachometer and trip meter, low oil indicator, low battery indicator, low fuel indicator and clock.

The appearance of the beast are simply adorable with highly aerodynamic front profile and striking rear end. The huge fuel tank and split seat are crafted neatly. The rear view mirrors at the front are immersed with the side indicators. The brutal beauty of the bike are simply inescapable from each angle. For the rider benefit, it features a fully digital instrument cluster that displays Gear position, coolant temperature, speedometer, clock/lap time, fuel consumption and odometer along with other tell tales.
Engine, Mileage & Performance
Honda CBR 1000RR is technically a 999cc sports bike that is built with a liquid-cooled, 4-stroke, 16-valve, DOHC, inline-4 engine that comes mated to a 6-speed transmission system. The gearbox works well with a Wet, multiplate with diaphragm spring clutch and coordinates with #530 O-ring-sealed chain. The superb mill pumps out 175.67 bhp of power at 12000 rpm along with 112 Nm of torque at 8500 rpm. The motor comes integrated with PGM-DSFI electronic fuel injection that provide rigid power delivery and sound throttle response. The engine of the giant has a compression ratio of 12.3:1 and a power oriented bore x stroke ratio of 76 x 55.1mm. With this setup, the Fireblade can achieve a maximum speed of 200kmph and can sprints from 0 to 60kmph in just 3 seconds.
Handling & Ride Quality
The Fireblade AKA Honda CBR1000RR is one of the most thrilling bike in the Honda’s stable. The monster comes to standstill with the help of 320 x 4.5mm dual hydraulic disc with 4-piston calipers (Nissin/Brembo) and sintered metal pads at the front and 220 x 5mm hydraulic disc with single-piston caliper at the rear. Moreover, the bike employs a combined Anti-lock braking system that cut down the stopping distance and enhance the stopping power of the beast. Besides this, it has a minimum ground clearance of 130mm which is quite low that keeps the ride highly stable and swift. The wider rear tyres provide enough traction for the rider to perform cornering at high speeds with ease. The wheelbase of 1410 mm is good enough to add more stability to the ride.
Features
Honda CBR 1000RR comes with compact car-style ‘wave’ design ignition key that increases security of the motorcycle, which is known as Honda Ignition Security System (H.I.S.S.). For the riders safety, the bike is configured with electronic combined Anti-lock braking system that pumps up the responsiveness of the brakes. Wider tyres at both ends keep the rider grounded with ample of traction.
