TVS Wego

TVS Wego is a 110cc scooter. It available in solo and dual-tone colors. Under the solo color category, there are five options, black, blue, grey, orange and red while for the dual-shade, there are three choices- orange/black, blue/black and red/black. The moto-scooter gets a stainless steel muffler guard, a full digital speedometer, body-coloured grab rails, blacked-out alloy wheels, and two-tone colours. Apart from these, the Wego also gets some convenience features like dual-side handle lock, 16-litres of underseat storage, external fuel filler cap, mobile charging socket, and the ignition key glows in the dark. The TVS Wego also gets retro-fitment kits for the differently-abled. It's priced at Rs 11,999 and comes with pillion footrests and provisions for holding crutches.

Currently, the 109.7cc engine is not yet BS6-compliant. It delivers 7.9PS and 8.4Nm. Suspension wise, it gets telescopic fork and gas-charged monoshock and braking is via drum brakes at both ends. The TVS Wego is offered in two variants - standard and dual-tone (MF battery). It competes against the Hero Maestro Edge, Yamaha Ray Z and Honda Dio.

TVS Wego is a mid-size scooter with loads of features ranging from style, power, comfort, convenience and safety. Starting from the front, it features a multi-reflector headlamp with AHO, sharp design lines on the apron, vertically-placed golden eye indicators, dual-color and double stitched anti-skid hysteresis seat, large black alloy wheels, color-coded rear grab rail, wider floor board to place goods with ease, stainless steel muffler guard that protects pillion from touching the heated exhaust in addition to enhancing the scooter’s visual appeal, tail section with integrated LED tail light and turn blinkers and the all-new graphics. The handlebar gets an optimum placement and so do the rear view mirrors. The instrument console of the Wego is fully-digital that displays important vehicle information like trip meter, low battery indicator, service reminder and low fuel warning signal. Plus, there are other features like dual-side handle lock, under seat storage of 16 litres, external fuel fill option, mobile charging socket and the ignition key lock glow feature that lets the rider locate the key lock easily even in the darkest of hours.

Dimensionally, it measures 1834mm long, 640mm wide and 1115mm high. The wheelbase of 1275mm is quite generous same as the 150mm ground clearance.

The scooter gets plenty of features in the safety department. There is an optional front disc, multi-reflector headlamp with AHO for brighter and clearer vision regardless of the natural light, tubeless tyres for ultimate support and grip, parking brake feature and the all-important SBS (Sync Brake System) that enhances the braking performance, reduces chances of slipping and skidding by activating front brakes whenever the brakes at rear are pressed.

The TVS Wego is powered by the single-cylinder, 4-stroke, air-cooled BS-IV compliant 109.7cc engine that churns out max power and torque numbers as- 7.9PS at 7,500rpm and 8.4Nm at 5,500rpm respectively. The CVT transmission on the scooter is extremely smooth and potent to deliver on-demand power on straight lines and more mileage in traffic-prone areas. It can travel from 0-60Kmph in 11.2 seconds. The engine doesn’t harm the environment anymore and complies with the prescribed emission norms. The fuel tank capacity on the Wego is 5 litres which are fine as far as its purpose is concerned. The company claims that it can yield a fuel economy of 62Kmpl however, in practical conditions expect it to deliver around 50Kmpl. 

The scooter is built on the duplex tubular frame that offers stability, strength and agility. To offer a stable ride, the front suspension duties are taken care of by the telescopic fork while the rear suspension duties are handled by gas-charged hydraulic mono shock absorbers. The suspension setup can see through the undulations and rough patches quite easily. It sports largest-in-the-class 12-inch wheels that are shod with 90/90-12 tubeless tyres. Braking duties are handled by standard 130mm drums, however, there is a front disc (220mm) option too.
