As the name suggests, this Apache 160’s motor has a 4-valve head, much like the Apache RTR 200. In fact, this whole engine has been derived from the 200. It’s a 159.7cc single-cylinder liquid cooled unit which has the same bore and stroke dimensions - 62mm x 52.9mm - as the earlier RTR 160, but the compression ratio has been bumped up to 10.15:1. To assist in heat management, it features oil cooling as well as a “ram-air” duct behind the right tank shroud to channel air to the engine. And there’s fuel-injection on offer as well. The end result is the best in class power and torque figures for a 160cc single-cylinder air-cooled motor: 16.02PS @ 8000rpm and 14.12Nm @ 6500rpm respectively.
