Indian Motorcycle has rolled out the new updates for their bikes that will most probably be a part of 2016 models. The updates consist of new paint schemes for its bikes and some other tweaks. The changes will take place in five of the motorcycles beginning in the United States. The bikes are imported to India through CBU channel, so the new paint schemes are expected to arrive in India as well in the next few months. Indian Motorcycle offers six models in India viz. the Scout, Chief Dark Horse, Chief Classic, Chief Vintage, Chieftain and the Roadmaster. The motorcycles are available in India ranging between Rs. 12 lac to Rs. 35.1 lac (ex-showroom New Delhi).

The renowned Polaris Industries, which is also the owner of Indian Motorcycles is bringing most of its motorcycles in the country via Completely Built Unit (CBU) route. Currently, the company imports products from its only plant situated in Minnesota, United States. The motorcycles above 800cc attract an import duty of 75 percent and since all models of Indian motorcycles fall under this category, it will bring a steep downfall in the prices which will eventually help in digging its roots well in the Indian Automotive market.
