But it comes at a hefty premium of Rs 10,675

The BS6 Bajaj Pulsar NS200 makes 1PS and 0.2Nm more than the BS4 model. No changes in terms of features on offer. Kerb weight has gone up by 2kg.

Bajaj has updated its popular Pulsar model, the NS200, to comply with BS6 emission norms. Priced at Rs 1,25,030 (ex-showroom Delhi), the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 BS6 is Rs 10,675 dearer than the BS4-compliant version.

For the added premium, it now gains fuel injection and Bajaj has also ensured that the Pulsar NS200 BS6 is slightly more powerful and torquier than the BS4 model. The 199.5cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled fuel-injected engine produces 24.5PS at 9750rpm and 18.5Nm at 8000rpm. In comparison, the BS4-compliant carburetted engine churned out 23.5PS at 9500rpm and 18.3Nm at 8000rpm. The engine continues to works alongside a 6-speed transmission.

Thanks to the addition of emission-curbing equipment, the kerb weight of the Bajaj Pulsar NS200 BS6 has gone up by 2kg, at 156kg kerb. Meanwhile, ground clearance has gone down by 1mm, at 168mm, presumably due to the changes in the engine cowl to accommodate the additional catalytic converter.  The rest of the dimensions remain unchanged. In terms of features, there’s nothing new to report in the BS6-compliant version. It gets the same halogen headlamp with pilot lamps, semi-digital instrument cluster, raised clip-on handlebars, split seats, and LED tail lamp.

Underpinnings include a telescopic front fork, rear Nitrox monoshock, 300mm front petal disc with single-channel ABS and a 230mm rear petal disc.
